  1. What's new in this club
  2. I finally found a home for independent game developers. If you have any feedback on the changes, please let me know. Thanks again, @Adeptus!
  3. Welcome, and thanks for joining, @Adeptus. Thanks for sharing what you're working on. Feel free to share more about the game and roadmap in this thread. Just an FYI that the site is still being structured, so this thread may move to a different forum at some point..
  4. Game is avalaible for free, online: https://adeptus7.itch.io/dominion I am constantly improving the game, adding new content and mechanics, so Your feedback would matter. If you are hesitant to play the game, I invite you to watch/listen to the reviews: Indie Sampler (video): [BOKC] BlancoKix (video):
  5. "Dominion of Darkness” is a strategy text game in which the player takes on the role of a Sauron-style Lord of Darkness with the goal of conquering the world. He will carry out his plans by making various decisions. He will build his army and send it into battles, weave intrigues and deceptions, create secret spy networks and sectarian cults, recruit agents and commanders, corrupt representatives of Free Peoples and sow discord among them, collect magical artifacts and perform sinister plots. Note – one game takes about 1 hour, but the premise is that the game can be approached several times, each time making different decisions, getting different results and discovering something new.
  6. Thanks for all the added context. I updated the original post with the new info and to add the link back in there. Thanks again for sharing and I hope to see you around the forums!
  7. Hi, thanks for the clarification, and my apologies for any concern caused. Soup Villain is a moniker I operate under. I'm a conceptual artist in the UK, and this file is part of an art project I am working on regarding futility and legacy. The project was birthed from disagreements I had as an artist with the institutions I work with in my daily life - why should my art be promoted and sold as though it was some sort of product? Hence, I set about building this virtual exhibition, and sharing it in places such as this, which I hope are protected from the general buzz of algorithms and endless content marketing. To clarify the contents of the zip, you will find a .app and a .exe file of a small virtual exhibition, made in Unity. You can wander about, and try to see all 6 paintings if you wish. I was not aware of the DC villain, but thank you for the referral! - Soup
  8. Hey @SoupVillain and welcome to the board. Before sharing a link to download a file, please tell us a little about yourself, what hometown is, and why you made it. I downloaded and tested the Windows version to verify that it wasn't malicious, but I want to make sure members know what to expect before going to download a file. P.S. I love your display name. If it's the DC villain, there's a DC forum in the superheroes club you might be interested in joining.
  9. Hi, I'm new to these forums but I hope this is an acceptable way/place to post this. Hometown Virtual Art Exhibition: The project was birthed from disagreements I had as an artist with the institutions I work with in my daily life - why should my art be promoted and sold as though it was some sort of product? Hence, I set about building this virtual exhibition, and sharing it in places such as this, which I hope are protected from the general buzz of algorithms and endless content marketing. To clarify the contents of the zip, you will find a .app and a .exe file of a small virtual exhibition, made in Unity. You can wander about, and try to see all 6 paintings if you wish. There is a separate version for Windows and MacOS. Please read the README file before exploring. Download Hometown ZIP I'd love to hear your thoughts. Kind regards, Soup Villain.
  10. All of those updates sound amazing. Thanks for the breakdown, @worm! I love the care Valve puts into their products, which is something that's remained a constant since day 1. They offered Half-Life for free at some point in the last week or two as part of the 25th anniversary, which I was able to snag. I originally played it via the physical copy, so it's nice to finally have it in my library on Steam. It's only 99 cents now, though, as well as Half-Life 2. P.S. For those who may have missed it, there was a great documentary Valve put out on YouTube for the anniversary.
  11. A bit late to announce this, but here we go! Half-Life just got an update for its 25 years of existence, and boy, it is AWESOME! I will leave links for the official data with all features and stuff, but first, I want to add what I really enjoy about it based on my experience with it and not with a copy-paste from a random site. The menu. You can't imagine the happiness on my face when I saw the old WON-style menu. Of course it is not 100% the same, but it got it right. The background, the title animation, the sounds when you click the different options... What a flashback. The UI. It's the same but with a bigger font so it works better with bigger resolutions. Just a little detail but a great one. The FOV. Same thing as the UI, works better with bigger resolutions. Texture filtering. Now you can disable the filtering, making the game look like it's using the Software mode but without leaving OpenGL. I love this because I feel it looks so much better, the game was made in 1998 so I love the grit of the pixel-like textures, it makes it look more defined. The new maps. They added some new multiplayer maps and they are completely awesome. After years and years of experience with the engine, they made them super fun and the environment is crazy, they use all that was available for the game from the start, but without the need to make them run good on computers from the 90's. The environments are as detailed as Black Mesa's. The biggest one of them all for me - you can now host a server from the game and it will display on the master-server list for everyone to see and join. No more dedicated servers, hosting or third party apps like Hamachi. You can start a server, your friends will join, randoms will join, and it will be a blast. There is so much more. New models, bug fixes, texture and animations corrections for the campaign, and a great 1 hour documentary about the making of this awesome game. Read more about it here: https://www.half-life.com/es/halflife25 https://store.steampowered.com/sale/franchise_half-life
  12. No offense my good chap, I hope you find the answers you seek!
  13. Context is tricky over the internet, but no offense was taken or intended by the italics.
  14. Actually, only two other team members are furries, and I don't really trust the advice of one of them. Still, they also know quite a bit about character design and Natalya should be able to do some sketches so we should have a decent idea before I try and model it... EDIT: I just caught the italic on "non-furs," sorry if that somehow offended you...
  15. That's probably a good call. They should have a better understanding of what you're going for than us non-furs.
  16. Fair enough. I joke that you can do anything with a fursona because once you're dealing with anthropomorphic animals, you're already giving reality the finger, so you might as well just go all-out with it. Still, I want to try and keep things faithful... You know what, I'll probably get the advice of the other people on my team, as opposed to the random non-furs on the internet.
  17. Hmm I see... but, at the same time, he will be a wolf so, you are already deep in changing stuff, the purple socks are not that big of a deal, I think
  18. Well, see, the purple socks part in particular comes from this art from Steam's 20th anniversary.
  19. Missed the post! Wolf G-Man with purple socks? I think it's a great idea
  20. Okay are yall ignoring this intentionally? Yeah, no, wouldn't be surprised
