2025 Backlog Cleanup
That’s a massive backlog, and I’m stressed just thinking about it🤣. Be careful not to let it become a chore. What are the games that you REALLY can’t wait to play through?

2025 Backlog Cleanup
Backlog Update: After organizing my backlog I realized that I had 130 games in the backlog not counting the 45 games on my wishlist. Using the website howlongtobeat(dot)com I calculated approximately how long it would take me to complete. I came up with 3.6 years give or take. Keep in mind I only play about 15 hours a week. Because of this, I reduced my backlog to 20 games that I should be able to complete by years end. At the end of the year I will revamp my backlog and include games that were removed from my backlog this year, to be included for next year. By reducing it to a realistic year-long backlog, it makes the list much less daunting and more approachable. With a more approachable list, psycologically I feel I can easily conquer it. For those that feel their backlog is too much to handle, this can be a way to fix that. Also, I have fully completed my second game this year. Which makes four games I have checked off my backlog, and we are less than 10 days into the year. Though the long holiday week did help, allowing me to play more than normal.

2025 Backlog Cleanup
Thanks so much for your support, @tekdrudge! I’ve tried so many different methods to tackle my backlog over the years, but this is the first one that stuck. I’m still using it and it’s still working. I haven’t really needed to use it on PlayStation since that’s mostly for the exclusives, but it’s been a backlog-saver on Xbox for me. I love the idea of retiring games, as well. I’m stealing that 😁 Thanks for sharing, and for being a part of Fan Clubs! For those interested, this is the video mentioned.

2025 Backlog Cleanup
Last week just after Christmas but before New Years of 2024 I took action. I actually took the time to organize my backlog and make a plan for 2025. For years I have said I was gonna do this but never did. About 95% of my backlog is Playstation games because it is my prefered platform even though I have all the consoles. I came up with a very similar system to Mike that posted recently about the PS5 Pro. I just discovered his YT channel today and found his year old video interesting because our backlog methods were very similar. Here is what I did. I made a gameslist for “Priority” and a gameslist for “Backlog”. I put 10 games in “ Priority” and everything else goes into “Backlog”. I install one game at a time and play it for at least 2 hours. If I don’t like the game or the game does not click, I uninstall and remove from the list. Rinse and repeat. I started doing this on December 29th, and now on January 3rd I am on my 4th game from the “Priority” list. One game I completed and two games I “Retired” because I just could not get them to click for me. This is an effective system. I highly recommend it.

PS5 Pro Technical Presentation
Sony officially announced the PS5 Pro is releasing November 7 for $699. It's all-digital console with an optional disc drive that can be purchased for $79.99. Vertical stand is sold separately as well. Last generation's consoles were underpowered out of the gate, so a mid-gen refresh made sense. This is something I'm having a hard time justifying, though. The main talking point was that it essentially blends performance and graphics modes, removing the decision for players. The Performance RT (ray tracing) mode strikes that balance well for me already, but what are your thoughts? PS5 Pro Technical Presentation

Final Fantasy VII Remake
Guest posted a post in a topic in PlayStation's PlayStation ForumWell, I guess the developers don't want to waste the platform since it's capable of things greater than a turn-based system. Looking at the video, there seems to be some kind of bars, probably for purposes like in the original game. Are we getting a mix of the two systems? (How is that going to look like, though?)

Final Fantasy VII Remake
I'm not worried about it in terms of playability, it's just that it's so different from FF7 and older FF games in that they used to be turn-based RPG games. So to go from turn-based RPG to full on action game, that's a bit of a disconnect for me given that it's the same game in name and story (mostly).

Final Fantasy VII Remake
Guest posted a post in a topic in PlayStation's PlayStation Forum@Zack T I don't mean the parts like how Square Enix released Final Fantasy XV. This one game won't contain the whole story of the original, so we'll see more soon. But nobody knows if they decide to do it just like XV again. (I'll be really angry if they do.) Are you worried about the battle system? It looks like a session of button smashing, similar to XV. Considering my unsatisfactory experience with XV, I am concerned as well, but I hope they learn from past mistakes.

Final Fantasy VII Remake
I haven't heard about it having several parts. They'd kill themselves if they release the game that way. I imagine it's all 1 game. Regardless, I dunno how I feel. I played and beat original FF7 all the way through, extra stuff and all. I love the updated graphics, but I don't know how I feel about the drastic playstyle change. I have played RPG's that play that way before and enjoyed it, but it's just different. I may eventually try it.

Final Fantasy VII Remake
Guest posted a post in a topic in PlayStation's PlayStation ForumWe have some trailers for the new game for those who haven't seen them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R13Wx49ux5w Looking good, alright. For a player who's not really into the franchise, this remake seems like a worthy purchase. If I do buy it, though, I'll have to stick through several titles since it's going to have several parts. That's where I'm concerned. Who's planning to pre-order the game?

PlayStation 5
Guest posted a post in a topic in PlayStation's PlayStation ForumAnyone looking forward to the PS5 coming out? I read some articles that said it's going to "revolutionalize how video games are played" but they all say that on the dawn of a new console being released. Still, I'll probably get one when it comes out.

Playstation Plus Instant Game Collection
The games are free for the month that they are in the PS+ window, but so long as you have an active subscription, the games remain playable. One big change since this was last updated is that the PS3 and Vita is no longer supported, so there is only two PS4 games (and sometimes a VR title) each month. That being said, there is always a batch of games that have PS+ discounts applied (which change periodically), and sales will now and again have double-discounts (i.e. the actual sales discount, with a PS+ price cut on top). It is well worth the money, especially when you can download a game you would likely never buy, and realise it's pretty damn great.

Playstation Plus Instant Game Collection
Guest posted a post in a topic in PlayStation's PlayStation ForumI hadn't read about the Vita TV actually being launched yet. Isn't it just a rumour still? We know it will eventually be launched somewhere, but as far as I know we don't have any concrete evidence beyond the fact that it does indeed exist.

Playstation Plus Instant Game Collection
Guest posted a post in a topic in PlayStation's PlayStation ForumHow long do the games normally stay active on the service? I'm considering getting it and you all have mostly convinced me, but I am a very casual gamer and take my time with larger games. Sometimes it could take me months to fully complete a game. Would I still be able to enjoy them for that long with the subscription?

PlayStation 5
Guest posted a post in a topic in PlayStation's PlayStation ForumWith all due respect, it should be Sony's responsibility to keep our information secure because we pay them to play their games. During that hack, it was the Sony's servers that were hacked and not individual players. Besides that point, I think Sony has learned their lesson because if this happens again then they will lose big time.

Guest posted a post in a topic in PlayStation's PlayStation Forum@North Whenever the new console comes out, I'm hoping to see some JRPGs that really take advantage of the hardware's horsepower. I'm also wondering how empowering it'll be for more experimental/art house projects, especially with the rise of VR. @Glimm 2019? I think I heard something like that too, I'm excited about the possibility of having the PS5 as soon as next year.

PlayStation 5
Guest posted a post in a topic in PlayStation's PlayStation ForumGenerally, I feel the same. These hardware protections are great, but we rarely see a physical breach. It's about protecting what we have already put online. For safety reasons, I never put any real information on these sites unless I really have to. Then again, maybe many players have done that, so Sony prefers to focus on other areas. It would be great if you can share your opinions because maybe I haven't thought about the reasons you're thinking, but that's okay.

PlayStation 5
IF the PlayStation 5 is actually coming soon, I'll probably not bother with it, for various reasons I can't be bothered to go into.

Guest posted a post in a topic in PlayStation's PlayStation ForumWe should have a better security with our personal data in the PS Network. The hack was done 7 years ago, and I'm sure Sony made their network more secure. However, I'm still not comfortable about giving my personal data in their network.

PlayStation 5
Guest posted a post in a topic in PlayStation's PlayStation ForumThis topic is old, but I just read an article claiming that we may see PS5 in 2019. It's possible to get a new user interface and a fingerprint scan to unlock the device. Those are smashing features, but do we really need something other than better graphics for the games?

PlayStation 5
Guest posted a post in a topic in PlayStation's PlayStation ForumThe CEO of PlayStation recently explained that PS4 was entering the final phase of its life. Sony may invest less in 2019 as they prepare a new platform. PS5 is still three years away at least but I already feel sad because I haven't had the console for long. PS4 has seen many great games and there are still more to come, so let's not waste any time! What do you expect to see on PlayStation's next machine?

PlayStation Virtual Reality
Guest posted a post in a topic in PlayStation's PlayStation ForumIf you are into the horror genre, survival horror games should be on your list. Resident Evil is an old franchise, but I've heard people praising Until Dawn recently too. If the standard playing method already scares you, imagine how it feels to play almost like in reality. Living in the world of Walking Dead, anyone?

PlayStation Virtual Reality
Guest posted a post in a topic in PlayStation's PlayStation ForumI am looking forward to getting one hopefully for Christmas! (Hint, hint.) I personally can't wait to get my hands on some VR and see what all the hype is about. I understand that it is awesome! Something I can look forward to...

PlayStation Virtual Reality
Guest posted a post in a topic in PlayStation's PlayStation ForumThe era of virtual reality game is finally here. PlayStation takes the first dip to the other world via their VR device. It's relatively easy if you already have PS4 too. It looks super cool, but none of the games really caught my eyes yet. Do you own one or plan to get one?
