PS5 Pro Technical Presentation

Sony officially announced the PS5 Pro is releasing November 7 for $699. It's all-digital console with an optional disc drive that can be purchased for $79.99. Vertical stand is sold separately as well.

Last generation's consoles were underpowered out of the gate, so a mid-gen refresh made sense. This is something I'm having a hard time justifying, though. The main talking point was that it essentially blends performance and graphics modes, removing the decision for players.

The Performance RT (ray tracing) mode strikes that balance well for me already, but what are your thoughts?

E3 '07: Sony Thread

The keynote isn't until later, but a certain titles trailer has been released early on the gaming sites. After it's controversial showing last year, Killzone 2 rears it's head with in game footage. Here's the trailer, thanks to Gamespot: Killzone 2 trailer, In game.

Well not quite up to the CGI footage they showed last time around, but impressive in it's own right. Outside of the dodgy mouths, the animation really impressed in this trailer, but from a pure graphical standpoint it isn't really any better than Gears of War or Call of Duty 4. The game does seem to be a cookie cutter of Gears at this point, with the cover fad sneaking into another title. But still, good showing and enough to keep me interested.

Xbox Partner Preview Event

In the latest installment, we’ll feature a mix of new and upcoming games for you from incredible partners like Remedy Entertainment, Sega, 505 Games, and many more, with over a dozen new trailers over the course of around 25 minutes.
During Xbox Partner Preview, you’ll get a first look at gameplay from Alan Wake 2’s next expansion, The Lake House, an action-packed new trailer for Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, a peek at multiple bosses in dark-fantasy action game Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, multiple world premieres, and other great titles coming to Xbox consoles, Windows PC, and Game Pass.

Luke Kuechly and Steve Smith are Hall of Fame finalists!

Leading the group of candidates in their first year of eligibility were Manning, Kuechly, Suggs and postseason kicking hero Adam Vinatieri. The others were two key members of Seattle's Super Bowl-winning team in the 2013 season in running back Marshawn Lynch and safety Earl Thomas; two-time All-Pro guard Marshal Yanda; and longtime San Francisco left tackle Joe Staley.
Kuechly and Suggs were among the top defensive players of their era with Kuechly selected as the top defensive player in 2013 and Suggs in 2011.
Kuechly's career was brief but impactful. The first-round pick by Carolina in 2012 was an All-Pro five times in his eight-year career with seven Pro Bowl nods and a Defensive Rookie of the Year award.
Over his eight-year career, Kuechly led all linebackers in the NFL in tackles (1,090), takeaways (26), interceptions (18) and passes defensed (66).

These are dark days. And they may continue for a while.
In 2001, when we went 1-15, there was still hope. We had some high-potential rookies on that team like Steve Smith, Dan Morgan, and Kris Jenkins. We had the #2 pick in the draft the next season and took Julius Peppers. You could feel there was a chance that things could turn around if we got the right coach. 2 years later, we were in the Super Bowl.
In 2010, when we went 2-14 we had the #1 pick in the draft the next year and got Cam Newton. We also got Greg Olsen for a 3rd round pick that same season. We had a mix of young talent and vets like Ryan Kalil, DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart, Jeremy Shockey, Jordan Gross, a pre-psychotic Greg Hardy, and Chris Gamble. In 2012 we got Luke Kuechly and 2013 - 2017 ended up being a great stretch where we made the playoffs 4 of those 5 years, including our 15-1 Super Bowl run.
This year, we're 1-10, no first-round pick next season, and our last 3 first-rounders are still question marks.
Jaycee Horn has the talent, but can he stay on the field? Icky looks like he only knows how to run block, while his pass blocking is probably the worst in the NFL this season. Bryce Young gets an incomplete for now. Marty Hurney was awful drafting after the 1st round, so-so in Free Agency, and a bit too loyal to our own homegrown players. His saving grace was that he never missed on a 1st rounder. We always had talent thanks to those picks and they were the core and identity of the team for a good decade and a half.
Whoever it is that takes the reigns has their work cut out for them. Hopefully, Tepper learns he needs to put the right people in charge of football operations. Let's hope that the 3rd Head Coach hire is the charm and we pair him with the right GM so we can start to right this ship.
