***Official Raw Thread - 22nd March 2004 - ALL LOTTERY DRAFT DISCUSSION HERE***

Posted

Preview:

A new day is dawning for World Wrestling Entertainment, and RAW will be the starting point when every WWE Superstar will be in attendance for a lottery that will shake the very foundation for both RAW and SmackDown! Rivalries will end, partnerships will be split, and depending on the luck of the draw, Championship reigns could come to an end. Mr. McMahon declared that he wanted a shake-up and on RAW next week, that shake-up will occur as no WWE Superstar will be exempt from the lottery.

Have we seen Evolution together for the last time? Have rivalries such as that between Mick Foley and Randy Orton or Chris Jericho and Christian ended suddenly? What will happen to Champions such as Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero if they are drafted to the other roster? Will they have to forfeit their Championships?

Also, last week, Randy Orton challenged Mick Foley to a one on one match to prove once and for all that he is the better of the two. While Foley did not have a verbal response to Orton’s challenge, his actions may have spoken volumes when Foley interfered in Evolution’s match against Chris Benoit & Shawn Michaels last week and went right after Orton. If Foley and Orton are indeed on the same roster, will Foley accept Orton’s challenge? Only one way to find out … watch RAW next week!

All of this and more on RAW at 9/8 CT on Spike TV!

DRAFT DRAFT LOTTERY LOTTERY DRAFT DRAFT

What do you think?

(That's 8 Chris, 8)

I'll let this one go, seeing as I made it ;).
No, I think it's only fair that you stick with your policy on all threads related to the draft ;)
i think the lottery is going to be brillient i can not wait to see who is on what show.
It's certainly generating a lot of interest. I can only hope WWE don't cock it up. *crosses fingers*
na they wont mess it up its going to be mint a new raw and a (needed) new smackdown
Austin, Triple H and Taker better be on RAW with the UK tour coming up!

Im pretty excited about this , here is what i think about it:

From Raw

First thing's first, Austin has got to go. I'm a big Austin mark, as everyone knows, but his act got stale 4 months ago. It just got even worse this past monday when he actually started writing tickets.Hopefully, he will be moved to SD! where he can be given a fresh angle (although it'd be hard to explain since he isn't a wrestler anymore). Not only that, but I think time with Heyman will do Austin good. Heyman isn't the creative control of SD!, but that doesn't stop Heyman from being creative. Austin had an extremely entertaining run in ECW, and i'm willing to bet a Heyman/Austin paring would be equally as entertaining.

-Moving on, we go to Everlacking. The way i see it, Orton has to stay on Raw. The guy is IC champ, so we don't need any confusion around the title scenes. But more importantly than that, I don't think the time is right to have Orton and Cena on the same show together. Ric, like Austin, has pretty much played out as an active wrestler and will stick mostly to supporting roles. He'd be safe on either show, but for the sake of "The Legend Killer" gimmick, he needs to stay on Raw. That brings us to Batista and Triple H. Now, at first, i thought Batista was going to SD!. The guy is a huge monster, and could very easily take the place of Brock. However, Vince said "even my family" which was a not-so subtle way of saying Triple H. So i'm thinking that maybe Triple H will go over to SD! with Batista. I'll find that extremely funny, because Triple H has always found a way to make SD! look like the weaker brand anytime he mentioned it.

-Finally, lets look at RVD and Booker T. I said earlier that i don't want to see any confusion over titles, but one (or both) of these men needs to be put over on SD! Both are dying on Raw anyways, hell give them a chance! I think that either could feud for the WWE title, or the U.S. title and fit in place.

From Smackdown!

For reasons discussed with Orton, Cena must stay on SD!. He's not the one that needs to be separated , but he does need to stay on SD! since he is for all intents and purposes the future of SD!

-Edge will come to Raw. Well, that's a no brainer. The guy hasn't been seen in months so WWE could easily justify his move without the draft. However, they aired an EDGE clip on SD! so he'll have to be picked in the Draft now.

-I dunno why, but i have a feeling that Big Show will go over to Raw. The guy has played out on SD!. He's been in the WWE and US title scenes now, and has no where else to go. I say he goes to Raw.

That's it for now. I think others will be moved, but i'm hesitant to call any more. Although, i'll say that WWE needs to tredge lightly around the Women and CW divisions. They either need to leave the divisions alone completely, or unite the divisions (move Hurricane to SD, and Torrie/Nidia/etc to Raw).

Thats my thoughts :)

Here's to you people who think that Bill Goldberg is gone.....He's NOT! Rumor's say he has re-signed with WWe, and is going to SMACKDOWN in this Lottery! We'll just have to wait and see what tonight brings!!!!!
Here's a hint dude: rumours and facts are different. So, to state that he's not gone because of rumours is nonsensical.
Goldberg is gone for the forseeable furture.
Goldberg is gone for the forseeable furture.

And thats a RUMOR they want you to believe! If GOLDBERG was gone, they would've taken his name off of the ROSTER as fast as they did with Brock Lesnar!

Keep dreaming, buddy...
I don't wanna get in the middle of anything here, but I was on WWE.com this morning and Brock was gone, but Goldberg.com was still there. Maybe just a lapse in office work :P

This one will seem hard to believe, but apparently most, if not all, of the WWE wrestlers don't know which brand they are going to yet after tonight's "lottery draft". They were not scheduled to be told until they get to Raw today in Detroit, with some saying they have heard they won't even find out until right before the show begins.

The feelings amongst the talent is decidedly negative to the way this is all being handled. Many of them are annoyed that they aren't being told whether they will be going to Grand Rapids the next night for Smackdown or going home for a few days off before the weekend house shows start on Saturday (or Sunday, depending on the brand).

The ill feelings started last week when the Smackdown brand didn't know about the draft until people started calling them after the announcement was made on Raw. Now, some wrestlers are in a position where they may be split from their traveling partners and have to find someone else to share rental cars and hotel room expenses with on short notice. To say the workers are upset right now would be an understatement.
