im really sick of RVDs current wwf role fueding with goldsut and sometimes team with edge in tag team when it was just 3 or 4 months ago he was main eventing with steve austin and kurt angle and the return of the nWo aint gonna help either i will make it worse for him.

I hope wen the rosters spilt that RVD isnt in the same as Nash Hall and Hogan so he can be back main eventing right now maybe and I.C title reign is in store for RVD or the WWF could wait till king of the ring and have RVD win it so he will be elavated back to main event status plz ppl reply so i know what other RVD fans think

Yeah I think we all know that HHH coming back has had a serious dent on RVD's career. But if you look at how long it took Y2J to get to the main event there's no reason why in three years time we won't be talking about him winning the Rumble, or retiring Steve Austin.

 

RVD's style was more suited to ECW, and to a certain extent he worked for a promotion that revolved around him. With the huge ammount of wrestlers in WWF in the main event, or capable of it, many of these guys are going to have to put up with feuds with lesser opponents from time to time. Lets just hope that with RVD it doesn't become a more often than not situation.

I see the conspiracy theorists are out in force. Yeah im sure HHH uses his stroke backstage but in RVDs case whether its HHHs fault or whatever he shouldnt be in a main event. RVD got a mega push when he first came in, and he'll get another push down the road.

No he Main EventED. It was only once and personally i dont even think he should have been there. Before he can become a main eventer he needs to get some mic skills. The only other longstanding main eventer that didnt have mic skills was 'Taker, but his character meant he didnt speak much. Every other main eventer was/is great on the mic. Rock, Austin, Shawn, Hogan, Flair etc. Until RVD learns how to use the mic and stops just doing high spots all the time and actually WRESTLES for a change then he isnt worthy of being in the main event. Don't worry, he will be a maineventer one day but its not his time yet.

RVD can wrestle but time is the enemy- he needs lot of time like he did in ECW to get a kickass match

RVD has been in the business for about 10 years, maybe he should learn some wrestling to compliment his acrobats, that way he's be deserving of a main event push like Jericho

yeah well this aint ecw and he cant get all the time that he had there like he does now so tough he can take a push off a cliff like Dean said Goldust will kick his ass

that's why Raw and Smackdown should be a 2 hours and 30 mins - just for RVD

RVD is far from being the complete wrestler that most of his fans think he is. Billy Gunn is more of a complete performer than RVD!He may have 'educated feet' but its rare that you see Rob use a move like the suplex which is a fairly basic one. Rob has limited wrestling skills which he can half make up for with his gift for the high spots. But thats only half, he needs to improve on his mic skills if he is to move on to main event status. He has some of the worst mic skills about and his hand action that he uses none stop is more fitting for Sweet Valley High. I dont think he is able to move on as people will get bored with his repetitive style and he will never get past being cheered by wrestlings uneducated pee-wees.

 

Its time to look past the flair and discover the truth.

I'm a fan of the ECW RVD but i'm already sick of the wwf version. Rob's taken all the decent moves out of his moveset (all the suplexes) and now he's left with his superb 5 star frog splash which is used far too much and his crappy rolling thunder (its a friggin flip bump for christs sake its not a move.) His matches are dull now. If you've seen one you've seen em all. The best thing for rvd would be to put all the former ecw guys in the hardcore division and rename it the extreme title or something. As soon as the wwf fans see ecw style matches they'll be blown away and the belt will be worth something. Rob can then do the vandaminator/terminator skateboarding the chair into the opponent in the corner and moonsaults off the guard rails. Lets relive the days of rvd v jerry lynn, Raven, Dreamer, Taz etc.

I have been thinking that for a while.

i know RVD isn't the best wrestler and his mic skills still need much improvment, but it's not all his fault, sometimes wrestlers will tell a younger greener wrestler that he can't do this, that and sometimes vince tells them as well.

but hey...maybe his luck will change

when will people realize he's not the whole dam show.

Seabass--Youve changed your tune through this thread. Some people like the popular but the second they think it might be going the other way they will change without a second thought.

RVD worked in ECW because the promotion was built around him, Heyman did everything he could to make the guy a star.

 

Do you honestly think RVD stayed in ECW long after Tazz, Storm, Awesome etc because nobody wanted to sign him, or because he realised how cushdy he had it there?

 

I do think RVD is a great talent, but I also think he can only be entertaining against the right kinda guys, Jerry Lynn and Balls Mahoney helped him look great in their matches against him.

RVD is excellent. Period.

whoa whoa whoa, i never said Van dam was the BEST wrestler, i never said he had brilliant mic skills (i said the oppisite), i still think he can wrestle and i still stand by my descion that he needs more ring time, but i am open minded... and i consider other descions.
