Guest Christof
I have just stopped watching after 75 mins, that England game sucked, the only good point was Rooney trying to kick ten tons of manure out of the Spaniards
Guest Jayden
I watched the first half, got bored, so came upstairs and on here. I thought we looked weak, Spain looked pretty good, it was a meaningless friendly as they all are these days, and generally I just lost interest. Guest The Crippler
The racist chanting was as bad as I've heard it at a football game. Really disgusting and I was hoping Wright-Phillips would get a goal to shut them up. Rooney was a disgrace as well. He needs to sort his temperment out. Throwing the black arm band down was also completely out of order. England were poor and Spain highlighted the gulf between the sides a lot. Guest johnny knoxvill
the spanish fans are a ****ing disgrace picking on little shaun if campbell would have been there I think we would have seen a repeat of Karate by catona
Guest Christof
It was obvious as well that the chants put Ashley Cole off his game near the end. The spanish FA should be made to pay for this and the actions of their fans at the U21 match last night. both fullsenior and u21's should be forced to play their next games behind closed doors
Guest Tajiri
Spain are to major a power in European football for any serious action to happen against them, UEFA will do what they did when England were charged with racial abuse towards Turkish players and fans, they'll get a fine thats nothing to an FA of their size and warned. Slovakia on the other hand are a minor nation, so when their fans did it they got a massive fine and behind closed doors bans imposed. Guest Kakarot
Ive never heard anything like that in my life. Not just in football matches but anywhere. It seemed like most of the crowd were doing it simultaniously. They should be ashamed of themselves, but probably wont be. It was absolutely pathetic. What are the chances of Madrid and Barcelona behind closed doors? I mean it was the same stadium. The answer? No f**king chance. I know it's a really sensitive subject to talk about, (although IMO it shouldn't even be a subject were aware of in 2004, but there you go) but Ive never really understood the sort of chants th Spaniards used. It just doesn't make sense if you think about it. But I guess anyone who uses them has a brain the size of an ameoba, and a conscience to match. It really p*sses me off that ther are still those type of people in civilised areas.
Guest Nicole
The chanting was so fecking bad! I felt awful for players like Ashley Cole, so many measures have been made to kick it out of footie, and that happens. Disgraceful.
Chris2K 176
What was worse is the way Luis Aragones refused to apologise, not only for his previous comments about Henry, but for the way the fans behaved. This guy needs banning from football.
Guest Jayden
I'm not sure he needs banning from football. He has been completely out of order, made ridiculous comments that were not only offensive but in many ways incited the sort of reactions that we got last night. He should be punished, but while I have no time for racism or any other form of prejudice, I don't think you can ban someone from football completely for what he's done. It has to be said though, if it was the English FA, and Sven had made the same comments he would have left by now. The English media, and the FA would have forced him out. Both Terry Venables, and Glenn Hoddle lost their England jobs because of things that went on off the pitch. If Aragones was the England manager he'd be out of a job. Guest Tajiri
Sven refused to applogise a few years back in his Lazio days when Mihailovic racialy abused Viera in the Champions League not to mention the over things those charming group of Lazio fans have done in the past. Guest Kakarot
Have you seen whats on the back pages of the Spanish press about the Racist chants? Not a damn thing. In fact, the only mention of that subject is when they accused the english meadia of contributuing to it, and of starting a witchhunt against Aragones (wasn't he in Lord of the Rings?) Anyway, can you believe that? If it happened at Old Trafford, the media here would have it cover to cover. There would be letters asking Erikkson to leave, petitions, everything. But the Spanish have glossed over it. Im also dissapointed with Alonso. I love him as a player at Anfield, but to say he didn't hear anything defis belief. I understand defending your own country, but not against this Xavi, it makes you look like an idiot. Can I also say that my mood was lightened no end when Sven actually used the phrase 'He is young, he is learning' about Rooney. Seriouly, that boy would take out the headlights of his own car with a sledgehammer if he thought it looked at him funny. But on that same note, it seems there were not only racists in the crowd, but snipers too, if the Spanish players are anything to go by. Guest Tajiri
If it happened at Old Trafford' date=' the media here would have it cover to cover.[/quote'] I Don't remeber it being cover to cover at the Stadium of Light when English suporters did it to Turkish fans and players. Its amazing how quickly that was forgotten. England got of very lightly with a punishment for those incedents compared to what other nations have gotten and Spain will probaly get the same. UEFA is controlled by the major nations. Edited November 18, 2004 by Tajiri
Guest Vaile
I Don't remeber it being cover to cover at the Stadium of Light when English suporters did it to Turkish fans and players. Its amazing how quickly that was forgotten but did you remember a 2 leeds united fans got stabbed in turkey? they deserved to be chanted at and they deserved it, plus they are all anti english and they give us a bad time every time we go to turkey. Guest Kakarot
No they are not all anti-english. That is a narrow minded and pretty ignorant statement. Its tha same in evey country, a small minority gives the whole country a bad image. And no matter what a couple of lunatics do, that does not give anyone the right to direct racist abuse at anyone. The players on the recieving end of the english abuse had nothing at all to do with he stabbings.
