Guest Christof
Ok I know some people won't like this suggestion but in light of tonights events and the remergence of Greenberg I feel that we need either some more global moderators or a couple of General Chat moderators. I know neither post has the power to ban but if we had some staff on hand we could have at least got rid of all of the posts and threads that have been created. Cheers Chris
Maxximus 353
Funny thing is, them threads haven't even been closed yet??? Whats up with that!?
Dead Crow 370
I presume a new Senior mod will be brought in, in light of Crippler stepping down. Problem is that unlike some, most of us mods aren't actually awake at stupid o'clock in the morning like Mart, therefore we can't do anything. I mean a few people have my mobile number if trouble strikes so that they can wake me up and get my ass on a computer to try and help things out, but still, it's awkward being predominantly English based. To be honest, we'd need either an American on board with the time difference, or a mod who stays up all night. In my eyes, they'res only one person I could even DREAM of getting the mod job and that's Chris2k (and I for one will feel slightly hard done if anyone else is picked over him because no one deserves it more - and most don't deserve it at all), and I'm pretty sure Chris doesn't stay up til Stupid o'clock either, awaiting Greenberg posts. Said posts have now been deleted, by the way. In my opinion, rather than more senior mods, I think Russ or someone needs to be upgraded to Admin. I don't think two people with a ban option is good enough. Kam is always too busy to be called upon at any moment, and Pabster is just one guy then left to make the judgement calls or be called upon. Another admin would relieve his burden as he has someone to work with, and may possibly also be on when Pabster isn't, which is convenient for us, and vice versa when Pab is on and so-and-so isn't. Or at least let the senior mods have banning/cooling off priviledges.
Guest A.C.
One more to delete - gross joke under "Why did the chicken...?"
Guest Christof
It was merely a suggestion after what was happening last night. I just think maybe we ned one more admin, one more Senior Mod and maybe a specialist for General Chat in the same way that Music / Other Sports have specialists. Certainly would have made last night a bit easier. I presume Martin did actually stop posting after I asked him to do the right thing and go but I went offline at about 1:45. Dead Crow 370
The General forum doesn't really need a forum leader. The other forums have one because a) they are specialist (whereas General is... well, general), and b) the others need one to keep the forums active, start games, etc. MLM and Nic set up the best musician votes, the old chart prediction league, etc. KJ and AJP set up the prediction league, and have kept the forum booming. General forum is pretty active as it is, and people always find new games to play and things to post. Plus, it doesn't change the fact that even if the forum did have a leader, what's to say they would have been awake last night? They might have been in bed too, and moaned at about it yet again. I don't think that a forum needs another leader just because some aren't online all the time, because I don't think that a) it'll change anything, and b) that if we went down that road, anyone bar AC deserves General chat modship (and I haven't seen him as a late night bird on here), nor does anyone bar C2K deserve senior modship, and he again isn't a late bird. I see exactly what you're saying but I don't think it'd have changed anything whatsoever.
Chris2K 176
Thanks for the support Dra, I would obviously love to be the next Senior Mod, but as you rightfully point out, there's nothing that any mod living in the UK could've done to stop this, as most of us have long gone to bed by 1am. It's just one of those things that can't be avoided. Of course, if Skullmonkey was still around, we wouldn't have any of these problems :P. Guest The Crippler
I also think Chris would be an excellent choice. Obviously up to Kam but it wouldn't hurt for Chris to become a moderator.
Guest A.C.
Shows what I know... always assumed Chris was a mod'! Ha, means I can stop showing respect to Mr 2K until Kam does the right thing and mods him! [edit] Science to the rescue - seems he's a US mod. :dumb
Maxximus 353
Uh guys, I live in the US and am usually up at stupid o'clok in the morning. Till about 6AM... Your time anyway! I wouldn't need anyother power then to close threads. I can't think of anyone else American based who has been as active on the boards as I try to be. I could also monitor the chat at late hours since there are all kinds of shennanagans that go on in there late at night :eek! Think it over, I'd be happy to help out. :D
Guest HSM
Well I'm moving to the US next month and as im naturally better than all of you at everything it should quite obviously be I who is made mod. :D
Guest Russ
Draven's hit the nail on the head so many times here, it's had 13 concussions. Adding a general chat forum leader would be pointless, because there's always going to be general points up for discussion. As for a new global mod, no offence to anyone else, but it has to be Chris2K. The US Scene forum is the OVW of TWO, if you can handle things there, you get called up to the big time. Draven is our Brock. :) I've also said before that I'd back any move to add another admin or give banning/cool off priveldges to the current crop of mods. Unfortunatly, due to my position, I can't keep saying it or else it looks like I'm not saying it for the benefit of TWO as a whole, but it's certainly something I'd welcome. A note to people though, if Bannedberg decides to return one day to the site that he "doesn't need" (AHAHAHA). "You like attention, don't you Bob? That fine. But you don't care if you get good attention, say for good grades, or bad attention, like turning your father into a jack-in-the-box here. Mr Bannedberg, I see you're agreeing with me." "It's the air conditioning" What I mean is, this is the only place that Bannedberg has been accepted in his life, and he had it taken away from him. He gets upset when he sees that people are forgetting about him, so he makes an ass of himself to put himself back in our minds. When he sees posts like "Hey you ***** you ****** your mother with a ****** so ******* your ******** out of here before I ****** on your ********", he knows he's getting to people, so he comes back. If you see a stupid post, ignore it. Leave it alone. Instead of giving him pleasure from reacting to his idiotic behaviour, click the Report Post button beside anything he posts. That way, as soon as a mod comes online, he/she sees the problem and can delete the threads. I realise that it's easy to try to be the hero for TWO and tell him to buzz off, but what you're doing is letting him know that he's annoying people and he's more likely to come back. Report his posts, don't reply to it and everything he says will be deleted ASAP.
Guest Simon
Translation: "I'd like a job at TWO" Poo poo. I think it's clear who should be Cripps replacement, but otherwise there's absolutely nothing wrong with TWO at the moment except for the usual odd thing. No new forums need to be created, no new posting system needs to be created, no new shiny flashing nameplates need to be made etc. If it ain't broken, don't fix it.
