OH MAN!!! They are airing the Hulk Hogan part of the HoF on US TV, so we may get it here in the UK too. (If not, it will be available for download within hours).

Hulk Hogan gets one hour just for him to talk....thats awesome. This is going to be GREAT!

I wonder who will induct him...Jimmy Hart is there...maybe Brooke...I personally would like Vince himself to do it.

I'm confused... are they just showing Hogan's induction? Last time they had this event for EVERY inductee, which would suggest to me this is the same. They couldn't just give Hogan an hour to speak, it would be INCREDIBLY disrespectful for the other inductees.

"OK guys, Terry gets his induction live on national TV and an hour to speak, you lot can have five minutes in the alley behind the studio."

They will ALL get all the time they want to speak, but that will all be used for the DVD release. The one hour HOF show they are going to air will just be Hogans induction alone.

They realise he is the 'star of the show' so they are airing his part to grab some ratings. They dont want to air the entire HOF though, because that would hurt DVD sales, although airing Hogans will probably have an adverse effect on DVD sales as I'm sure there will be alot of people who only planned on buying it for Hogans part.

Well using that theory they may as well not have Angle vs. HBK, Cena vs. JBL or the MitB Ladder Match on the actual show, just have the ME of Batista/HHH. Otherwise it might hamper the DVD sales....

I seriously doubt that Hogan will get a full hour. If he does, then why bother inducting all the others?

Dude, what are you talking about? You're not listening to what I'm saying here.

ALL of the inductees will make a speech, it will be EXACTLY like last years HOF where they run through them all, they all come up, make their speech etc. EXACTLY LIKE LAST YEAR.

However, the 1 hour long HOF show that they are airing on Spike TV will only concentrate on Hulk Hogans participation at the HOF. They wont be airing the entire HOF show on TV, ONLY Hulk Hogans part.

It would be stupid for them to air the whole show on free, because then why would anybody buy the DVD when its released? Do you understand what is happening now?

I haven't got last years yet' date=' so should I get it, or is it any good? and if it's good, I will get this year's first. :)[/quote']

Yes, last years was AWESOME. BUT, being the age you are, its doubtful you will know much about any of the inductees as they were all way before you're time. That being said, if you appreciate those who paved the way, then you will enjoy it.

Silversivion.co.uk is selling last years HOF on DVD for like £8! Thats a bargain.

If what you're saying is correct' date=' BeltMark, then Hogan is a really smart guy. He had to have this put in the deal, a whole hour dedicated to him, that smells of 'Hulks idea'[/quote']

You may be right, but I dont think thats the case. Last year, the inductees were all told "Talk for as long as you want, there is no limit, its not live so you just go for however long you wish" and they did, and the show ended up running until gone 1am because of it.

I'm sure they have all been told the same this year, and Hogan may only talk for 20-30 minutes, but they will pad out the 1 hour TV special with promos, match clips and stuff like that to make it upto the hour I bet.

I imagine that if the show runsd for an hour, you can take 15 minutes away for the adverts straight off. Then you'll have a few notes from guests, fans, etc. You'll have Gene-o introduce the video package which'll last about 3/4 minutes, then the induction speech, most likely from either Jimmy Hart or Vince McMahon. That in itself will be another 10 minutes. Taking that into consideration, Hogan'll get about 15/20 minutes to talk, which is I think what Heenan got last year (only no one will beat Heenan's speech because it was way too heartfelt, honest, and funny). Good idea in theory, but the DVD theory is too flawed. If they cared so much about DVD sales, they'd keep Hogans off TV, and just show the really good highlights.

I'm sure they do care about DVD sales, as DVD sales is where WWE is actually making most of their profits these days. If it werent for their huge sales of DVD's they would be alot worse off. This is why they are planning on releasing ECW and WCW PPV's on DVD soon, along with all these other classic DVD's which are coming out.

By showing Hogans HOF participation on TV, they not only make a bunch of money from advertising revenue but they also show the fans a part of the HOF in hopes that they enjoy it and go out and pick up the DVD to see the rest.

I have no doubt at all that the reason they arent showing the whole show on free TV is directly down to the adverse effect it would have on DVD sales when it is released later in the year.

Now, if they were showing the whole show on PPV for like $15 or so, then I wouldnt question it as they would pretty much be making DVD-esque money off of the HOF without all the DVD extras, so peoploe would probably STILL buy the DVD on top of the PPV of the show.
