We are all familiar with what has occured over recent months concerning Matt Hardy, Lita and Edge. What with the affair, the break-up and the firing/releasing of Matt from the WWE. Many if not all of us assume that this is perfectly true, and Matt willl more than likely show up in TNA and move on from there.

 

However, after the stunt pulled on Raw this past week with Matt's music and video being played during the wedding segment, a few people on the internet are throwing suggestions round that the whole firing thing could be a work. They beleive that Matt was not fired, and that he will return to exact "revenge" on Edge and Lita as part of a storyline. Myself, i am very wary of this, as it would be one hell of a work, and to be honest i doubt they could pull it off.

You could look at it this way though, is Vince really that heartless as to play Matt's music etc during that segment? I mean, no matter what way you look at it, that was cruel. Of course, he could have asked Matt if he was ok with it, but that just isnt Vinnies style now is it?

 

So come on, what do you guys really think?

I think Vince is enough of an ass to actually have a dig at Matt by playing his music

Indeed, i watched 'Wrestling with Shadows' today and it shows that Vince will happily stab anyone in the back if he thinks its good for business. But full credit to him cause doing that last night really turned that segment around, a few seconds before the song was played the crowd were all, quite rightly, chanting 'boring' and now we are all discussing it at length. It may seem so at times but Vince is far from stupid.

 

To be honest last night I would have loved this whole thing to be a work, not really to see Matt Hardy again, just the fact that it would have totally blindsided everyone, myself included. But its not a work, if it is I will eat my keyboard, but its not.

Well if it was a work it would be a great storyline, but it is the creative team that had the idea of playing matt's music and not vince's but he does have to look at the finished product, i think playing matt's music and not bringing him back or just forgeting that the music ever played would just be silly so i really think it is all a work.

Is it a work? No.

 

Did WWE like the praise they got from the web regarding ECW ONS? Yes.

 

Do they want to try to repeat it by rehiring internet favourite Matt Hardy? Yes.

 

Matt will be back one day, to feud with Edge, because WWE knows it'll make them money. But I really think it's gone too far for the situation to be a total work. You had Edge's wife saying her husband and Lita took steroids, something that WWE would never dare to allow. There's a big fuss over steroid use in some sports, Vince wouldn't invite similar negative publicity for the sake of an angle.

 

Hardy will be back, but the story of Edge breaking up the couple is as real as wrestling gets.

As much as I would want this to be a work, i would very much doubt that it is, similar to the Montreal job

 

I watched the clip on WWE.com and all though i already knew he wasn't appearing, i still marked out good and proper. Vince doesn't care whether or not it would seem ethical to do this, hell we should have known this from the very start otherwise why would he have taken advantage and created a storyline from a real situation

 

You can argue that the heat Edge and Lita are getting isn't true heat, it's just because, as much as Vince won't admit it, the majority of WWE fanbase are smarks, but it is heat none the less. Kayfabe is dead so why would people believe anything that contradicts the truth? As a fan, I would be more insulted if WWE ran through this storyline without even commenting on Hardy, that would simply be ignoring fan intelligence

it would be one of the biggest feuds of all time if it was work between edge and matt because of the build up... i think matt is going to be rehired... i wouldn't put it past vince for it to be work... fingers crossed :P

Now, the way i see it is that the WWE do want to hire Matt back asap, in order for them to capitalise on the heat between him and Edge. As for whether the firing was a work, personally i doubt it. Even though Vince has been known to pull off fantastic swerves etc, i very much doubt this one. Even he could not have set this in motion, could he? The main reason i asked in the first place is because rumours are flying, and a lot of people are talking about it. But personally i doubt its a work, although i do have the slightest, smallest feeling in the back of my mind that maybe, just maybe it is.

You can talk about Matt going to TNA, but I kinda doubt that WWE would be giving him this much publicity if he was about to sign for the closest thing that WWE have to a rival these days.

 

I'm not saying it 100% won't happen, I'm saying it would be a terrible decision to give this much focus to a guy who'll no doubt be used as a rival's big draw. And while their booking isn't always up to much, WWE as a business is usually run very well. I can't see them constantly referring to Matt Hardy unless they have future plans for him.

Yeah....but they also confirmed that Abyss was leaving, so I wouldn't take all of it at face value.......

 

They cannot use his music, and let this go....he has to be coming back.....they wouldn't (I hope) have had Lita say she has never loved ANYONE before she got with Edge.

i have noticed that Matt hardy has been kinda quiet just of late. Maybe they ahve done a 'shut up and you can get your job back' deal with him.

On the steroids thing, it should be noted that Vince said in front of millions of people that Randy Orton should go on 'roids. Not in those words, but the blatant implication was there for all to see.

Well if this really isa work than I will be able to say Vince honestly made Millions of Wrestling fans worldwide believe that this role was real. I doubt that Vince could even do that, Millions of Wrestling fans would not fall for one thing and it just seems to real. Then again if it was a work which I highly doubt that was ****ing amazing!

I suppose it seems rediculous but again if you think back, Why did Vince Fire Matt and not Edge to begin with???...that question seems to fuel the rumours I feel.

But that's what Vinny wants I think. He's given us the ECW ppv, he let them do their own thing to please the fans, he might just WANT to let Matt and Edge get it on in a ring. Crazy I know but it is Vinny Mac were talking here.

Besides, even though Vince kept Edge on and not Hardy, you have the feeling Edge is being made to pay the price for not being released....just a thought.

I wouldn't be surprised if Matt Hardy does come back. It would draw, and It wouldn't be the first time, people who've hated each other have worked together.

 

Eg. Bret/HBK, Douglas/Flair, Steiner/DDP, Hogan/Savage, Goldberg/Jericho, Rock/HHH, etc.

 

So yeah, I wouldn't be shocked at all.

Its either a proper Piss take or he's coming back or another good work from vince

If he does come back, it would make no sense at all.

 

I read somwhere that only 10% of wrestling fans, are internet fans. Whether that is true or not, I don't know, but if it is, 90% of WWE's audience will nto have a clue what is going on.

 

Even if it's only 10% who don't ise the internet, I doubt Vince would do an angle, leaving those fans out of the picture.

 

I can see him coming back, but not until the Edge/Kane storyline is finished, and the WWE have mentioned Hardy a fair few times.
