Its coming out in June and they have a nice article on Eurogamer summing up how its shaping thus far. I have faith in Codies to get it right, but there still that nagging feeling that it will flop. It lead to them putting the Club Football series on hold, not that it was that great but its a sign they are committed to the Sensi cause. But anyways, heres the article and it has some pic's to gander at. All to build up the anticipation of course.

 

Sensible Soccer

The old Sensible soccer was a great game, it took up many of my hours ya know. I wouldnt hold my breath for this to be good, but heres hoping that it is.

I really, really want this to be good, but if it is, bang goes my meagre, pathetic social life!!!! Double edged sword really. How me and my mates used to laugh at the comedy teams....

Sensible World of Soccer = Best footie game ever, if not best game ever. This new reincarnation will be a flop though, as great as Sensi is, it's had it's day.

Hated SWOS. Loved Sensi International Edition.

How could you hate SWOS but love the international edition. Same gameplay but SWOS had teams from all over the world, a club and player database the likes of which has never been seen since. We are talking the Amiga series right?

Yup, just didn't like the managery tinkery bits to SWOS. Since found out that early editions (one of which I had) were seriously bugged and could have been exchanged for proper working versions.

 

Bugger.

Hey, they even have the song from the old Amiga version.

 

I don't think I'll be buying it, my tastes have developed a lot since I used to enjoy Sensible Soccer. PES5 is the only football game I really need, although the emphasis of Sensi on spectacular goals from outside the box combined with the lower price will have some people desperate for the game.

It looks great, seems like they've kept pretty true to the original, even using the old song, great stuff.

Its also released on Codemasters website tommorrow apparantly. I'm in the middle of downloading the demo myself so can't give any personal feedback.

Loving this - the controls are slightly different, in that there's now two action buttons - one for quick passing and one for more powerful "kicks" but the old tap-tap-tap one touch passing works fine.

 

THe demo lets you play as England or Argentina then dumps you back to desktop, but it's a nice little taster for the real game, which of course, is now at the top of my MUST BUY~~! list.
