Guest Danny Styles
Source: PWInsider -- Despite some people being against booking “God” at Backlash, nobody is stepping up to Vince McMahon to tell him how they feel. Speaking out against Vince’s ideas is considered pretty much career suicide. -- A lot of people backstage were pleased to hear all the boring chants that Vince got at RAW during his long promo, as they silently felt the same way. Vince didn’t acknowledge the chants once he got backstage and acted like it didn‘t happen. [/Quote] IT must be great in the WWE if you are a wrestler who believes in God and Vince is insulting that belief, and if you speak out, you get fired, i bet morale is great backstage To be honest i never saw the point of the God storyline, i guess it shows how bad the WWE creative team really is, there are millions of ways to extend the HBK Vince storyline, why do they pick one that is offensive to millions of viewers and i glad the promo got called boring because wow it really was Your thoughts? Guest MrFill
Vince believes that any publicity is good publicity - remember when they were building towards the Billy & Chuck wedding? LOADS of publicity, from both the gay and the anti-gay community. By using God, he's getting TONS of publicity for free as people are talking about the WWE - and people will probably tune in to see how bad it actually is - this means more viewers, and they might stick around for more of the show to see what else happens. He might lose some viewers, but the chances are that the ratings will go up during this whole feud.

The very fact we're talking about it, makes it a successful storyline, like it or lump it. The ideal scenario if people dont like a storyline is to simply not even give it a time of day.......THEN Vince might listen. But i doubt it. Guest big pau hoolinator
I just don't understand why they've gone out and done the pyro thing on Raw becuase it makes it bleeding obvious what's going to happen at Backlash - why didn't they hold on ? Guest Slim Jim
I really hope they have a logical explanation for the pyros. Some of us want to try and get lost in the kayfabe once in a while.
Ryan 188
I believe in god, and i dont find it at all offencive, why should i? it's not like Vince feels that way in real life is it, we all know wrestling is scripted and 99.9999999999999999999999999999999% of the stuff wrestlers say in promo & interviews is scripted. Guest Jung
Its a very fine line Vince is treading on, because it could have massive implications later. Lose fans and critics on a touchy subject like religion, and you lose them forever. As long as he doesn't have God actually appear, he should be ok. If he does, then we've got big trouble... Guest Ro_y Disco
This storyline completly and utterly intrigues me- and that makes me watch the show, just to see where this whole thing is going to go and that will inevitably put money in Vince's pocket, the way it was intended. People will see these bogus events and pyros while chanel surfing and may be interested enough to watch the show. I watch wrestling to be entertained and this angle sure as hell entertains me. Okay, so it breaks kayfabe due to the stupidity of the whole thing but it's not as if anyone believes wrestling is real, anymore anyway- just watch it and enjoy it! Two thoughts on how this feud will go: Vince will proclaim that he is actually God and will instead team up will HBK and kick his own ass or Marty Jannety will reveal himself to be behind the pyros and will team with HBK (okay that one sounds kinda believable). Guest horsemansmiler
i think the angle is funny. It makes people talk much like the cena thing and its all good for wwe. im interested to see what ring attire god brings to backlash and whether he will get a hot tag! Guest Dazoggsta
Vince will proclaim that he is actually God and will instead team up will HBK and kick his own ass Heheh, i thought something along those lines, but thought of him turning on HHH instead. I didnt get as far as the logic to WHY he's do that, because its pretty unbelievable anyway.
Guest poland74
I don't think WWE/Vince have been insulting peoples belief in God during this storyline. From what I remember seeing and hearing from Vince he hasn't actually said anything truely harmful, blasphemous, or insulting. He hasn't come right out and denied the existence of a God either. I think this storyline has produced some very funny segments and the pyro on Raw this week I do hope has a logical explanation too. Even with all this talk of God, having God actually sending a sign like that is pushing the believeability a bit far.
Guest Nemesis Enforcer
America is a very religious country right no it seems so I can't see Vince making many friends with his current story idea involving god i nthe way he is, As Fill said tho Vince is very savie when it comes to publicity and the more he can generate the beter in his eyes
