Just wondering, are there any decent MMORPG's out there on the net that are *free*. The only one I've really played before was Runescape and I couldn't really get into it.

I've had a few plays on Maple Story - it's a 2D multiplayer game. Not very in-depth like a D&D based game but it's a good beat up the baddies, get given missions, level-up type of bash.

The problem is that most of the better MMORPGs take a lot of time and money to run, so they won't be free.

 

If you don't want a hack and slash, you could try Second Life, it's more of a "community" thing and has a free membership option.

 

If you don't want the MM part, and are happy with single person hack and slash, you could try Adventure Quest.

I gave up on free MMORPG's after a while, the quality ended up usually resulting in a few days play. If you're willing to fork out a bit of money though I would try Guild Wars which doesn't require monthly fee's. At the minute i'm playing World of Warcraft and it is pretty awesome actually, you have to pay every 60 days but I think i'll stop when I get there.

I really don't like them but I was roped into one called "Fly for fun" so have a look for that, it's totally free and the graphics were ok I guess.

Urban Dead is pretty good, quite hard at first though, Outbreak is easier and a similar style except its Humans against AI monsters where as UD is Humans on both sides namely Humans Vs. Zombies.

It's pretty easy to jump right into, and they seperate the servers via the strenth of your character, so you won't have to deal with getting pwned by high level guys.

it's actually darn good. As I said, the game is going to eventually cost money, so get it while you can.

Neverwinter nights is good game, now it's not free you have to buy it in a shop, however there are no on line fees you play for free.

 

It's probably the best online free RPG.

They have ALOT of updates.

I've already uninstalled it and re downloaded it... then down loaded the new launcher in the announcement form about two weeks ago. The torrenting files are still at 0.00% at 0.0B/sec. :?

What you need to know about some Torrent files is this: If the host PC, the one you are downloading from is not on you can't download. It will stay at 0% until the host computer is on, at which point it will start downloading.
