Thanks to buying and selling countless consoles and games I think I am fairly knowledgable about which games are good/great and which are overrated plus whether they are a bargain or not.

I want to know what my fellow members think of the games I plan to buy with the PS2 when I get it again (I aim to have all my target games by christmas)

1) Grand Theft Auto San Andreas - Free-roaming fun and limitless possibilities outside of the main story's missions make this an essential game for me!

2) WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2006 - My favourite wrestling game thanks to the general manager mode and improved gameplay.

3) Tekken 5 - I may not be very good at fighting games when it comes to facing human opponents but this is a title I can pick up and play easily plus it has good character storylines which explain why he/she/other is in the tournament.

4) Metal Gear Solid 3:Snake Eater - Being a longtime fan of the series I was initially annoyed at the absense of the radar for seeing where the enemy was positioned but having played the game occasionally with my mate I can see it's greater fun not having the luxury of knowing where your enemy is all the time.

5) Resident Evil 4 - Survival horror at it's very best and it's safe to say I get no greater joy from the game then decapitating the enemies who are foolish enough to approach me.

Because I am not working at the moment I am not listing upcoming games, the ones listed are affordable and probably in two for twenty pounds deals at Gamestation.

Id go for Vice City over San Andreas any day,I just preferred the story line.

Yep. Me too. The whole atmosphere just appealed to me more. Plus there was "that" soundtrack. And Lovefist just rocked my socks frankly.:xyx You can pick up Vice City for about 6 quid these days, no excuse for not owning it!

I also think Vice City is better than San Andreas. Don't get me wrong San Andreas is an awesome game but Vice City is better.
Ok, can I just ask what you have been doing with your PS2's to need to buy your 7th?!?

Buying them and selling them in short order, usually because I was skint :(

Perhaps you should stop buying them then, then you'll have money! Instead of using what money you have to buy a new one...

So you've had 6 PS2's and you can only recommend 5 games?!?!??!???!? :eek

I don't think he's recommending them, I think he wants to know our opinions on them...

Alrighty, drop Tekken 5 and replace it with either ICO or Beyond Good and Evil. Those other four games you mentioned are the cream of PS2 so there are no problems there.

San Andreas, Tekken 5 and MGS3 are all very good games which I'd definitely advise you to get. I'm not a massive fan of SDvsRaw2006 though. It's not a bad game by any means, but not exactly great either, and I personally prefer HCTP. Haven't played RE4, so I can't comment.

Other "essential" games that I'd recommend are: Burnout Revenge, Pro Evo 5, Kingdom Hearts and any of the Prince of Persia games. Then there are incredibly fun titles like Katamari Damacy, but you seem to be operating on a tight budget, so maybe you'd want to leave them out.

Drop Tekken and get Shadow of the Collossus and get it now.

You got great games Craig if I were you I'll keep then because you never know when you want to play then again. If you still want to drop then I'll say Tekken 5 and get The Silent Hill Collection if your a horror fan.

Its really up to you my friend.

Get Ico, you do not know what you are missing.

You need God of War. Simply one of the best games made for PS2. Same with the original Devil May Cry.

If you're into 2D fighters, I'd recommend Guilty Gear XX. Simply amazing.
