I've just recieved an email from Play.com informing me that my order has been posted. Brilliant! I can't wait to get stuck into this again, it must be one of if not the most addictive game ever created. I have to wait till my PC arrives to play it though, as my laptop can't handle it, but that's only a few more days.

The first thing I'll do of course is install the two patches that have been released, one of which - thankfully - expands the data editor and allows the creation of clubs. I always create my own club and start in the English Conference North, pulling a team together from scratch.

Those of you who are already playing it, how do you like it? Is it better / worse than the previous versions? What games are playing? Any tips or hints?

One thing I am certain of is that with this game soon to grace my world once more, I won't get much revision done!

Oh I know that, King. Football Manager is a perfect example of the "just one more game" level of addiction. Back when I was playing the 2005 edition, I remember just being there all day long. The hours would pass by without notice, and before I know it it's 2am, everyone else is in bed and I've missed the whole day! It's a drug, kinda like heroin except, y'know, without all the death and stuff.
I've never got in this game. I keep saying to myself I will one day, but I just can't. One thing that annoys me with this is the actual game play so to speak. By Game play I mean when your watching the game. Its either too damn slow or too damn quick. I wish they went back to the FM 005 style of speed.

Can't you alter the speed of the games in the settings, like you could before? If not, perhaps one of the released patches fixes this.
Yes I can, but I don't find any of them good enough to enjoy the match

Well in that case, you just gotta stop being so damn picky. ;)
I love this game but it is angering me as sometimes there is problems playing it over the network.

Heres a couple of players i sign:

Ben Sahar - young, and very talented indeed.

Sergio Aguero - if you have the money, theres none better.

Billy Jones - can play ANYWHERE, and he's cheap too.

David Jones (Man U) - never seems to get a game, so can pick him up cheap, and he turns out to be ACE.

Daniel Sturridge (Man City) - see Sahar.

Terry Dixon - (Spurs) - class act!

Love the game and as you say it is very addictive.Must say it is a lot harder than the rest but still love it.I have had the game for a while now but still can't seem to stop playing it.
I totally LOVE this game. My PC cant handle it though, which pisses me right off. Only chance I get to play it, is over at my cousins, where im currently leading River Plate to the Apertura title (opening season), with the help of the amazing Ernesto Farías.

I now have the game, hooray!

I was about to post "just waiting for the PC" but just as I began I got a phone call from Dell! Delivery date = 24th. :)

Other quality young players - Gareth Bale (he's AWESOME at freekicks), Marcelo (a young left back with a knack for scoring goals), and Kerlon.

More as i think of em.....

I finally got this on Monday as I now have a computer capable of running it. Only over here its called Worldwide Soccer Manager 2007. :lol
Myself and Wolvie were talking about this a few days ago. It's a good game, but it's not as good as 2006. The media stuff is awful, and pre-match team talks are just ineffective. Still, it's alright.

What's wrong with the media stuff, Mooby?
It's just so repetitive. Having to comment before every match is annoying after a while.
You can set it to let the assistant manager do it and never have to do it again

.......

Damn.

Yeah, I always set it my Assistant Manager.

I usually let the assistant manager do a lot of things. Namely training, I've always handed responsibility over there for some reason. Just never got into configuring all the schedules etc. Anyone else do the same?
