Improving ECW

Isn't that the reason they moved ONS away from it, for fear of embarrassment?

Nope!

Remember the ECW show that Punk debuted? Batista and Big Show were almost in tears at the abuse the crowd gave them.

I remember both getting abuse, at no time were they close to tears...a slight exaggeration there Dave!

Is this some kind of sick joke?

No its not. Name me some good shows that came out of Heyman's booking in those months? The odd match was good but that was it. Hardly any real storyline were going on that lasted, since he left we've had the New Breed and Punk's great angle mixed with The Originals

I doubt Lashley, Snitsky, Kevin Thorne, Striker or the EXTREME~ waste of time would be recieved well in Hammerstein. Isn't that the reason they moved ONS away from it, for fear of embarrassment? This is exactly the kind of reaction im talking about - the crowd participation always played a major role in the old ECW and was one of the reasons ONS '05 was so good. this would give ECW the cutting edge it lacks to compete with Raw and Smackdown

I'm interested to know why people dislike Punk. Considering how popular he was, what, 6 months ago, it seems strange that people really dislike him, when he hasn't done anything wrong.

I know wrestling forums always have bandwagons (Cena hate, Punk love, Henry love etc.), so I'm guessing this is the same. Some people will always dislike certain wrestlers (I know DraVen seems to have always disliked Punk), but the rest? I don't know. I certainly don't think Punk has done anything to warrant going from everyones favourite wrestler, to literally hated.

Why do people dislike him? I don't think he is close to being as good as he was in ROH, but he certainly isn't bad. He always delivers a decent match at least.

Not to start a fight, but you sort of answered your own question (the way I see it). DraVen is a respected member, doesn't like CM Punk, and for that reason alone, others will say the same.

No offence to DraVen, but unless he's posting more videos of Christy Hemme dancing, I don't think he holds that much sway over other people's opinion when it comes to which wrestlers to like.

I've don't watch or have never properly watched ROH, so I have to base my opinion of him soley on waht I'v seen him do in WWE. If I'm honest, going by what he's done so far, I honestly can't see what the insane fuss is about. I don't mind him, but the majority of the time he does nothing for me. Then he gets lauded for it. And if I'm honest that's what's stopping me from really getting into what he does. At this moment I honestly wouldn't care if he got released tommorrow. And that's MY opinion, by the way.

I'm pretty much in agreement. I only got into ROH after Punk left, and I honestly can't recall any good matches Punk has had in the WWE - most of the ones I've seen have been really mediocre. He's being completely outshone by the likes of Elijah Burke.

There is also the problem that he looks like a complete idiot as well. Hideous tattoos (especially the Pepsi one), lip piercings, crap hair, smug grin which I can't abide ... ugh.

I don't like Punk because he's overhyped to the hilt. Just because he had a good run in some two-bit indy promotion that the internet just so happens to mastubate furiously over, they think it translates into a good WWE run, which it doesn't. He has nothing, NOTHING that Gregory Helms doesn't have, except for crowd reaction, and that's only because Punk has been given a far better push than he deserves. Anyone trying to argue that Punk has been misused in WWE is wrong; he's been treated better than almost anyone I've seen come in from an outside company in a long time.

In the ring, I find that he's boring, his promos disinterest me, his look is nothing to write home about, and he seems awfully smarmy for someone so overrated. Fame going to his head maybe?

So yeah, that's why I hate Punk.

I'd be pretty smarmy if I managed to chip away a quater of the New Breed and then continue to get several victories over the rest of them.

By that logic almost every indie guy under 200 pounds is ripping off japanese wrestlers? That Asai Moonsault and Shooting Star press, all made in Japan. Same thing for the shinning wizard.

Steve Austin, DDP, Randy Orton and any wrestler who uses a stunner/cutter variant should also hang their head in shame then.

As should Hornswoggle, the little misting goon.
