Which Superstars will be calling ECW their new home? What new challenges will await ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley – if indeed he is still an official member of ECW? What will be the fate of ECW mainstays like the Originals, the New Breed and CM Punk? Which Superstars will be happy with their new beginning in ECW and which Superstars will not? Last week, ECW fans were stunned by how unstable Mr. McMahon appeared during Lashley's victory over Tommy Dreamer, Sandman and Balls Mahoney in a 3-on-1 Hardcore Handicap Match. Find out the answers to these questions and more on the next episode of ECW this week on Sky Sports 3.[/Quote]
TPIB 62
I thought ECW was decent this week, but was "peanuts" compared to RAW. Before I get into my rant, did anyone else notice that WWE has the J.A. theme wrong? Balls/Dreamer- A pretty good match. I think it's smart by the WWE to try and please the Philly fans, it'll help ticket sales. I think how this card was put together shows that. Now if they could only work on pleasing the rest of the viewers/fans in attendance. Boogeyman/Striker- What seemed like a "ho, hum" reaction from Philly to me. Boogeyman doesn't seem to have the same stride that he did on SmackDown. Did anyone else catch him flipping the switch on his walking stick? Looks like someone forgot the red smoke to shield him. Main Event- A decent match, in my mind. A good debut (for the new ECW) by Benoit. It seems to me that the DQ ending wasn't "suppost" to happen, but the referee was following the new decree placed upon the WWE officials. If you notice, the timekeeper took awhile to ring the bell (I guess he knows the winners). It seemed like to me that the ending that was suppost to go down was Burke tapping to Benoit's sharpshooter (like he did post-match). You know, I think Styles has a point, any four of the competitors (Punk, Benoit, Burke, & Cor Von) could be ECW World Champion (more so Punk, Cor Von, & Benoit, in my mind). ECW Overall- 5/
Guest Redneck Messiah
I watched the show while I did some work so wasn't highly attentive but did they even address the ECW title situation? I liked the main event. It was funny to hear the Philadelphia crowd react in the way they did during the ten bell salute for Vinnie Mac. Poor Tazz and Styles had to sell the death and lambasted the crowd :lol
Guest Slim Jim
Good show, but the ending to the main event - ouch.
ViciousPrism 177
I loved the sign in the crowd that said 'Vince Go Boom LOL!' Yeah, the guy actually put LOL on the sign...

All he, or she, has to do is ring the bell when the referee tells them to. There are still too many variables for a ref not to know the finish. I think it was more down to lousy booking that anything else. But I'll have to wait and see the show tomorrow night to state a valid opinion on that match. Guest Slim Jim
The finish was a real mess. The ref didn't make a clear 5 count and nobody knew what happened. It wouldn't have been as bad if they hadn't done a reverse decision the night before with the Snitsky match.
Guest FreeSpirit
An ECW show that doesn't even address their vacated heavyweight Title from the night before is a poor one IMO. Not to mention clogging up the 1st 10 minutes of a 44 minute show to fully repeat the ending of Raw. An OK main event ruined by the finish, a Boogeyman Vs Matt Striker stinker, but the opening Extreme Rules match was enjoyable. Still a pretty poor all round show for me. Guest FreeSpirit
Yeah true: But no mention of a tournament, whats going to happen to the title and no match whatsoever announced for the title. I know they had to deal with the Mr McMahon saga, but they couldve at least made it clear what was going to happen to the title IMO, and not just a brief three seconds mention during a Marcus Cor Von entrance. Guest SuperKick Kid
ECW on Sci Fi scored a 1.7 cable rating, according to data compiled by Nielsen Media Research. Well, looks like the Raw angle had an effect on ratings.
Guest Telf
I thought the show itself was nothing special compared to previous weeks I am glad that the ECW title is vacant as it allows the other upper midcard talent like Burke and Punk to get the limelight again, but this time with the championship involved As far as the McMahon "Death" storyline goes, i have no doubt it will spark interest, but for me it's a step too far in "insulting the fans intelligence"
Guest DarkMatchJobber
ECW needs a bigger roster before they can begin thinking about a serious tournament, maybe they should issue an open invitational to any RAW or Smackdown star who wants in the tourny to just show up on Sci-Fi between now and July (like what they did with Lashley). This way any rival brand superstar won't be a permenant member of the roster unless of course they win the title (the perfect excuse for Orton to jump ship and be lead heel)
Guest Nemesis Enforcer
I knew what was coming but still got bored with big parts of ECW this week Tommy Dreamer vs. Balls Mahoney (extreme rules) - Nice to see Balls in a none squash match this week, good match it was too, was nice to see a little old school ECW action from the two Originals some really painful looking shots from garbage cans and the like, this is what I would like to see more of from ECW each week Boogeyman vs. Matt Striker - Meh match, about as good as you see from Boogeyman which isn’t very much at all Benoit & Punk vs. Burke & Cor Von - Good match but a very confusing and crappy ending, I didn’t see much at all for the ref to disqualify Burke and Cor Von for to be honest, during the match Punk and Benoit worked well together but the ending really spoiled it Segments - The ‘WWE flag’ at half mast, the 10 bell salute… I just found it so funny how WWE is playing this ‘death’ off so seriously, the look back at Raw didn’t interest me but seeing what happened it was obvious that they would really push it hard on this show so I was well prepared for what was to come in advance The aftermath of the limo exploding, the segment didn’t interest me too much and there was some mistakes made in it that if WWE were wanting to make it seem ‘real’ they could have addressed but won’t hold that against them right now A final look at the death of Vince, well it started the show so I guess it should end the show too, I was still trying to figure out what the ref saw in the last match to care about this too much Overall an ok show, I am admittedly not interested in the whole Vince dead angle so that explains why I wasn’t going to love a show that featured a lot of it, and since it only happened yesterday it was obviously going to feature heavily on the show, some of the matches however made up for my dislike of theme of the show
