Travellers

I usually like to look on both sides of the coin when reading threads, but on this i just can't.

 

Hate them with a passion.

 

I work in a very rougth area so it was with some delight that i saw some Caravans take residence on a park next to my work.

 

A gang of 10-16 year old locals soon made their life a living hell, i uually hate the locals near by work. but in that instance i could of hugged every single one of them.

 

Although i would of disinfected straight after. :)

By Travellers are we referring to the Gypsie Romany types, or the caravan living, stealing electric from a street lamp, sleeping with cousin etc?

 

Because if it's the latter, in my line of work (selling pegs ;) ) I have a lot of clients who are 'travellers'.

 

Obtaining money via deception seems to be a favourite crime of theirs, but there are too numerous too mention.

True gypsies are different, people often confuse them with the travellers we know of. I'm of gypsy decent (apparently, that's why my hair never behaves...:lol )

That's odd, because I know a person from work of this descent; they live in a house, obviously work, yet get offended by the term gypsy. Preferring to call themself a traveller.

I went to see a client last week in Batley (Leeds) and I was filling in some legal aid forms and the conversation went like this:

 

RM: Okay, so what Race are you?

 

?: Er....what race? I don't run love! *laughs*

 

RM: HA. Erm, I mean like, white british etc

 

?: Oh right. Well, Gypsie.

 

RM: There's no box for Gypsie. Shall I put 'White - other'

 

At this point my gypsie client went mental saying the whole country and government were prejudice against gypsie! Needless to say, I bailed.

 

Inicidentally, she lived in a council and had a caravan outside who her psychotic alcoholic sister lived in. There was a padlock on the door.

All the Travellers, Pikeys, Gypsies whatever you want to call them, that I deal with at work are pure scum.

My mate gets them coming into the shop which she works at, they pay for something with a tenner and insist its a twenty to try and con her out of money.

 

They try that all the time at my place of work.

I have quite a few friends from both groups and this thread is making for bad reading. When I was 7 a bunch of travellers moved in across the street in this huge field there was uproar as you'd expect, we lived in a "respectable" part of town and didnt want the likes of these yobbos hanging around, yeah right I was the only kid in my street it was great to actually see other kids, they turned out to be quite a decent bunch there werent many dogs about 60 kids though but all were clean and tidy, nothing ever got robbed that I know of and they were always friendly, they stayed there so long the council cleared a piece of land 7 miles away and let them have it set it up with running water and electric, and they moved there and never moved out, I'm not saying they never caused trouble every "RACE" does at some point, but for the most they were alright became best friends with one of the girls.

 

Pikies are funny people in my dads business he came across a few he owns a removal business, skip lorry firm, turf company and a recycling yard 3 of which attract a lot of pikies seeing what they can take to make a profit or what they can do for you to get what they want, my dads work force went down with a cold one year and no work was getting done, my dad stepped in and done as much as he could but needed some help so called on the Pikies and jeez there was loads of them at the office asking me what they had to do within hours. They got a fair pay and a fair chance and thats all anyone needs, treat people like **** thats how they are gonna behave.

 

So next time you're bagging out on a Pikie Gypsie or Traveller remember they may well not like the way you live and behave in your nice house's acting all prissy everyone has the choice on how they live and behave and just because you live as part of the "NORM" thats not everyones idea of a life they dont always mean to offend and trying to push your way of life on them is ridiculous.

 

I have yet to take a claim to benefit from any of the affore mentioned groups what does that tell ya.

There is a big group (or 3) of travellers in Doncaster, and they caused some right crap in Pizza Hut. Every other week they would either try for free food (love, the hair on your pizza is a long blond one, I have short dark hair, as does the manager who did the cooking. Oddly you have long blond hair though...oh and no, I wont give you free food for a blowjob you dirty -in a bad way- biatch) or run without paying.

 

Or spitting in managers face, kicking the glass door in, and causing us to shut all 5 hours early.
