SD vs Raw 2008 sucks and blows at the same time. No Mercy/VPW2 owns all.
To be honest, I don't see what's so great about No Mercy.
WCW mayhem was good in the day so was warzone and attitue/ecw bu now the acclaim games look a bit bad LoW are still good games though was amazed by Low when it as out atm my game is low 2 but i want showdown i jsut like the fact those games have 50+ legends and all of them ones i loved BYW was good but BYW 2 was a big fat let down
I have fond memories of WWF Warzone. But my all time favourite has to be WCW/nWo Revenge for the N64.

Favourite Smackdown is SDVR08 - No where near as good as it should be though, but the gameplay is actually pretty decent (although the loss of the "focus" and the rope running is a bit suspect.

All time: WWF No Mercy (N64). Not the best looking game ever but the engine gameplay and animation were spot on. The CAW mode allowed edits to be made to all four (yes FOUR) alternate costumes of the existing characters and the wealth of moves and taunts included meant you could conjure up a passable version of any wrestler past or present.

As for childhood wrestling games; for me the Arcade belonged to Super Wrestlemania (the cartoon one that looks like Fire Pro) and the awesome Royal Rumble on the Sega Megadrive.

Speaking of FirePro, I'm toying with the idea of getting it when it comes out over here. Also I'm praying THQ bring No Mercy to Xbox live or something.

Best WWE game for me is probably SDvsRaw 2007 or SD:hctp having not played No Mercy. My fave other title is Rumble Roses 2, though I wish unlocking stuff was less fiddly.

I preferred WM2000 to No Mercy.

The season mode was awesome for the simple fact you played through as a CAW, finished it and started a new season as a different CAW.

The great thing they did was that the CAW you played through as previously was also in the season you just started. Do this enough times and you change the roster completely and have a massive amount of CAW replacing the standard roster.

This was also cool because if you got bored by a CAW you'd made, you simply edited him to be someone else and you had a new face in your season modes.

That's a feature that should have been built on, but instead was completely forgotten.

My favourite wrestling game is Smackdown vs Raw HCTP

Giant Gram on the Dreamcast is really underrated, it's bloody class on 2 player.

And this:

No offense intended, but you have been playing the worst wrestling games of all time. Don't get showdown whatever you do, it's unbelievably broken and bad. It's quite hideous. Get Firepro when it comes out, it'll be cheap too.

My favourite one has to be WCW Vs The World on the PS1.
If LOW = Legends of Wrestling then i am going to have single handed say that was the worse wrestling game ever created. It would be like saying why have Eliza Dushku do a sex scene with, i will take the inbread women who does the cleaning of the pig pens.

I loved that game so much. I collected it on my lunch break from work and stared at it until it was time to go home. I played the crap out of it and then dreamed about it when I wasn't able to.

That changed when N64 gave us WCW vs NWO world tour.

I'm loving Fire Pro Wrestling Returns. I made a kick as me, and this guy I know is putting together a memory card with a specially crafted blend of lots of US, TNA, ROH, lucha, and puro dudes

It doesn't get talked about the same way as No Mercy/SD series or even Fire Pro which is a dam shame because that little gem on the PS1 was the best wrestling game I ever played.I still remember unlocking Terry Funk and marking out like a lunatic when he did the roundhouse punch, good times indeed......

Liz (my wife) informed me last night she still has her N64 at her parents' house with No Mercy. She is bringing it home in the next couple of days! :good222:
PAL Fire Pro.....when?

Wrestlefest Arcade is a Legendary Title, I also love the Smackdown VS RAW series, yes even 08 (not as good as 07) but still damn brilliant.

I always wanted to try Firepro Returns but it seemed to hard to control for me.

PAL Fire Pro.....when?

13th this month apparently :) Having great fun with No Mercy BTW :good222:

I always thought I was the only person who preferred WM to NM.

I also have to admit, I played the heck out of Warzone and Raw is War on PS1. Combos were annoying, but became fluid after you played the game a lot. My cousins and I could play that for ages.

I played the hell outta warzone. Loved that game. It got a lot easier when I stole a book with full movelist and controls. but that was back when they made finisherd nearly impossible to hit.

When did WWE make the switchover to one button finishers?
