A curse on you!

 

REC 1 is probably my favourite horror movie of the 21st century, and I thought REC 2 absolutely blew penises.

 

A good horror movie sequel, PURE horror (so no Evil Dead 2), is an insanely rare thing. The Exorcist, The Blair Witch Project , American Psycho, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Hills Have Eyes, REC, The Amityville Horror, The Ring, Poltergeist, Saw, Hellraiser, Alien; some of the best horror movies ever, all with absolutely terrible sequels, some of which would rank up there with the worst films I've ever seen.

Maybe because the premise changed from a horror to an action flick?

 

I dunno, I loved all the Alien films despite their flaws. Not counting the AVP films, they were full of suck.

As I said; pure horror sequels only. I wouldn't call Aliens a horror film, it was an action film. I would consider the horror sequel to Alien to be Alien 3, which is when the series became a horror series again, and instantly began sucking.

In relation to the first one, which I like an awful lot, I didn't care for it.

The asylum scene alone freaked me out pretty bad when I first saw it. The rest was cheese interlaced with flashes of brutality. The whole autistic puzzle master little girl was a fantastic concept but they didn't quite pull it off.

 

Halloween: Curse of Michal Myers was a great squeal and easily my favorite besides the original.

 

Do you think Devil's Rejects was better than House of a Thousand Corpses?

Yeah, the Halloween series had it's up and downs, I wouldn't write it off as a series.

 

I prefer Thousand Corpses, but, to me, that question is like asking if I would prefer to have syphilis or AIDS. Sure, one's preferable to the other, but I'd be pretty bummed out about either.

Have you seen Cabin in the Woods and if so what did you think?

Haven't seen it, but I want to, I hear it's really good.

It wasn't what I expected at all. The concept itself was pretty damn genius. Lots of twists and turns. I strongly recommend it. As a horror fan it's really hard to find something different and this was very different.

I always found the Crow sequels to be poor, until number 4 (I think, the one with the dude from Ugly Betty). That one actually worked really well, just a shame it had Kirsten Dunst in it.

Not a sequel to Goodfellas per say but had most of the original cast, and the same director, it felt like a sequel to me.

EDIT: Yeah that was a pretty good sequel. Shame the next one had Edward Furlong shitting things up. Didn't realize until I looked it up that there's been 5 Crow films (And another one on the way.)

Rebuild of Evangelion 2.xx is brilliant, can't wait for 3.xx to come out and see how much it diverges from the original series.
