BRM 220
If the FIFA World Cup is a feast of Football, then prepare yourself for a mid morning snack of Football. he 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, the ninth FIFA Confederations Cup, is an international association football tournament that will be held in Brazil in 2013, as a prelude to the 2014 FIFA World Cup.[2] The tournament is expected to be held from 15 to 30 June 2013. Brazil are the defending champions. As the competition partially overlaps with the fourth round of the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification in Asian zone, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) asked FIFA to consider a change of date.[3] However, the AFC decided that the match day will be adjusted only for Japan, the representative of AFC for the Confederations Cup.[4] Uruguay, Italy and Spain will have the opportunity to become the third team (after Argentina and France) to win all three major FIFA tournaments: the World Cup, the Olympic football competition and the Confederations Cup. The BBC are doing a pretty furor job of giving us some free to air Summer Football, Hurrah for the beeb, except for Lawro. Naturally. The Confederations Cup gets under way in Brazil on Saturday, 15 June - and the BBC will be bringing you all the action along the way. Guest Boyo
I'm going to plump for Mexico to win it. They always seem to take this tournament far more seriously than anyone else. Cheers!
Guest Drake
Mexico are sucking fat monkey balls at the moment. But I like how them so I wouldn't mind if they won this thing, although I don't think it'll happen. Spain don't play with a true striker anymore, hence why they've become so boring. It's just a bunch of really good midfielders. They are effective, but boring as hell. If I was Del Bosque, my top 3 attackers would be: Iniesta (although his natural and more effective place is in the midfield but DB likes to play him up top) - Villa or Soldado and Pedro on the right. If they do the same shit they did during the 2012 Euros, with Fabregas as a false 9, then it'll be the same borefest.
Guest John Hancock
I don't really have a horse in this race, but I'm vaguely hoping for a Mexico win, just because everything that makes soccer a hot topic in America is a good thing. Secretly, I kinda want Tahiti to win, just because it would be funny. When it comes down to it, as always, it's anyone but Spain. I know they'll f*cking win though. Guest Boyo
Neymar's scored an absolute beaut tonight. Definitely a "must watch goal". Cheers!
BRM 220
Aye, it was worldy. Hulk is pants though. Decent first half, Japan more than holding their own with both teams looking dangerous.
Guest Magic
Who at the beeb looked at their punditry team and thought, "You know what this needs, more Robbie Savage." Guy is a complete end of a bell.
BRM 220
Martin Keown is ever insightful self. "Brazils fullbacks are like wingers" Welcome to 1996 Martin. Brazil set a bit of a marker tonight, still think that they'll struggle against either of the European sides, I would of also said Uraguay but looking at their qualifying form they're making hard work of making it to 2014 and alot of that is down to their shabby away form. But its Spain v Uraguay at 11 on Sunday evening so they'll no doubt prove me wrong. As the confederations cup is now basically a dress rehersal for the World Cup, it gives me the perfect chance to practise staying up late watching Football and then getting up for work at 6. Gets a bit tougther next year when some games wont finish until going on 3am GMT

Guest Magic
Well that Nigeria/Tahiti certainly was something. Could have finished about 10-1. The Spain and Uruguay games should be fun.
Shaun2J 127
Tahiti celebrated that goal like they won the thing, bless them.
BRM 220
Im expecting at least 10 from Spain on Thursday. Nigeria would have had that easily had they been anywhere near efficent as they shoulr be. But in a strange way well done Tahiti, in Europe we've become accustomed to the minor nations putting 11 men behind the ball and just letting the larger nation play in front of them. Tahiti were never going to do that, they had a go even though they knew they were going to get pulled apart.
