WWE Friday Night SmackDown

Airing This Week

The following results are from a recent WWE SmackDown TV Taping. The taping took place on Tuesday 3rd September 2013 at the Target Arena in Minneapolis, Minnesota and will air on Friday 6th September at 11pm on Sky Sports 2 in The UK.

In Ring Segment:

Triple H, Vickie Guerrero and Brad Maddox opened the show in the ring, with the WWE superstars on the stage and The Shield standing at ringside. Triple H announced that he is holding a meeting in order for his grievances to be aired and says that he didn’t want to fire Cody Rhdoes, but he gave Cody a chance to keep his job and then opens up the floor for any WWE superstar to speak out. Damien Sandow says that he supports Triple H’s decision to fire Cody Rhodes, however Kofi Kingston and Rob van Dam show support for Cody. Heath Slater complained about The Big Show, while Ryback said that he hates being called a bully. Triple H says that tonight, Ryback will take on Dolph Ziggler and as a thank you for speaking out, Kofi Kingston will take on Curtis Axel in a non-title match, while Rob van Dam will take on Randy Orton in a non-title match. Triple H then says that since Daniel Bryan is not on stage, he’s going to tell Bryan that he gets the opportunity to face a member of The Shield later in the evening. Triple H then introduced Randy Orton for the opening match.

Singles Match:

Randy Orton defeated Rob van Dam (w/Ricardo Rodriguez). Post-match, Alberto del Rio attacked Rob van Dam.

Backstage Segment:

Daniel Bryan and Renee Young are in the back with Bryan telling Renee that he was told not to attend HHH’s meeting and has allowed The Shield to decide who will face him later in the evening, not the other way around as he assumes that the match won’t remain one-on-one.

Backstage Segment:

AJ Lee, Alicia Fox, Aksana and Layla are in the back with AJ telling the Divas that she would rather face any of them instead of anyone on the cast of Total Divas.

Singles Match:

Ryback defeated Dolph Ziggler.

Singles Match:

Kofi Kingston defeated Curtis Axel (w/Paul Heyman). Renee Young interviewed Paul Heyman backstage after the match regarding CM Punk and the WWE Night of Champions PPV.

Singles Match:

Naomi (w/Cameron) vs. Brie Bella (w/Nikki Bella) was declared a no contest due to interference from AJ Lee, Layla, Aksana and Alicia Fox.

Tag Team Match:

The Real Americans (Jack Swagger & Antonio Cesaro) (w/Zeb Colter) defeated The Uso’s (Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso).

3 On 1 Handicap Match:

The Big Show defeated 3MB (Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal & Drew McIntyre).

Singles Match:

Daniel Bryan defeated Seth Rollins (w/Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns). Post-match, Randy Orton attacked Daniel Bryan and stood over him to end the show!

Orton still standing tall

That's 3 weeks on the trot Daniel Bryan fans.

*awaits the rage of the IWC*

They gonna go mad!!!!!!!!!

And, as per Jimmy's post in a previous RAW thread, Tyler Black v Bryan Danielson just main-evented Smackdown, meaning they've now main-evented both main shows.

Who would have thought that back in the day?

Tis a good day

So you're telling me that I slept through Smackdown and missed CESARO CHOPPING AN USO IN THE FACE?!

FML.

Orton/RVD, Cesaro/Swagger v Usos and Bryan/Rollins were all amazingly good matches. Also enjoyed Ryback/Dolph.

Also loved the town hall meeting, can't get enough of this new direction they are taking.

Good SD this week.

I haven't liked HHH this much in years, he's playing this role really well. Dean Ambrose was good on commentary during Ryback/Ziggler.

Enjoyed watching Big Show destroy 3MB & Bryan/Rollins was good as always!

I can't wait for Dolph/Ambrose at NOC
