I get the feeling there's going to be a lot of tiny little touches like that adding a sense of realism as well as the obvious graphical improvements.

The roster reveal is tomorrow (IGN has a live stream), so we should get the entrance videos as well as possibly signature / finisher videos like last year. It'll be interesting to see how the moves have been reanimated and how the "realistic" size / weight detection affects them.

It looks the same as every other WWE game of the last several years, come on! Same shitty animations of which we were all told were re-done. The Orton Irish-whip-into-slam is identical to how its always been.

Looks to me like they just polished a turd and everybody is falling for it, again!

Of course they're using animations from previous years, you think they're gonna get rid of good stuff from years gone by just for a fresher animation? The game looks vastly superior to last years iteration from graphics alone. You haven't seen true gameplay yet, because everything that has been released hasn't been from a full match. I'm saying what I've seen so far looks SO MUCH BETTER than last years, like it's on a different level. 2K, VC and Yukes are actually putting some much needed work into the gameplay. If you don't see it, then maybe wait a lil bit until proper gameplay comes out.

EDIT: I might aswell add, you're not going to get hugely improved gameplay. You only get incremental updates year over year because that's how the year over year gaming business works. See FIFA, CoD, Assassin's Creed, etc. I swear we had this discussion last year too.

Well yeah, of course I think they're going to get rid of old animations when they said they were re-doing the animation mechanics. Re-doing it means an overhaul, not keeping the majority of it exactly the same and re-doing a handful.

And no, I dont see it from what has been released, looks no better outside of nicer graphics. And I wouldnt expect hugely improved gameplay if they didnt make such a big deal of saying it will have hugely improved gameplay. If they stopped making promises they cant keep, then people wouldnt expect something they arent getting.

And just for the record, since 2012, the NBA 2K series HAS shown hugely improved gameplay each year, especially with 2K14, so it doesnt have to be incremental.

For 2K, wrestling games are still a new idea to them. 2K has had years of experience with their NBA series, but this is their first proper cycle with the WWE game. From what I've seen so far, gameplay does look improved, aside from the same animations and stuff. As of right now, I don't believe 2K have made any of the THQ promises of X improvement or Y improvement, all the people who are noticing the improvements have had first hand experience with the game, such as IGN and people at Gamescom right now.

I saw lots of little nuances like using the ropes to get up, striking someone when they're getting up actually looks like it should and I'm sure there will be lots of others once proper gameplay is shown.

Even the animations on the entrances appear to be vastly improved from last year.

But the little things are what I meant when I said they have polished a turd. Its the same thing, it just looks nicer. Using the ropes to get up isnt going to make the game more fun to play. I want something different than the same old shit we've been getting year in and year out.

I think its only a next gen game.

And Goldust?! F*ck a Goldust! Hogan please, or Warrior, or Savage. Or Tito Santana.

I'll be updating this post with the roster as it is revealed.

EDIT -

Sting got a great pop, but Austin's was bigger.

Hogan's owning the room and some banter with Austin is cool.

Renee Young is looking gorgeous, as is expected.

Reveal - Phase 1

Bray Wyatt

Roman Reigns

Chris Jericho

Dolph Ziggler

Fandango

Sheamus

Big Show

Cesaro

Damien Sandow

Brock Lesnar

CM Punk (huge pop)

Triple H

Shawn Michaels

John Cena

Reveal - Phase 2

------

They confirmed that the career mode begins with you in NXT.

The panel spoke about their journey to WWE and when it was Hogan's turn, he claimed he was "the original bad guy". :lol

Sting pretty much confirmed he will have a match in WWE.

------

Reveal - Phase 2

Goldust

Dean Ambrose

Batista

Jay Uso

Jimmy Uso

AJ Lee

Big E. Langston

Jack Swagger

Tyson Kidd

Darren Young

Rey Mysterio

Nikki Bella

Brie Bella

Titus O'Niel

The Rock

"The Immortal" Hulk Hogan

"Hollywood" Hulk Hogan

------

Hogan talks about how wrestling is not fake, even though the outcome is pre-determined. His surgeries attest to this.

Sting just talked about how he watched HBK matches on YouTu... the Network. :lol

Austin asked who the panel's greatest rivalries were with. Sting said Flair, Hogan said Savage or Piper, Cena went with Punk, Sheamus chose Big Show (but gave D.Bryan a mention), Cesaro went with Sami Zayn and Roman admitted that he's not done much as a singles guy yet, so went with Randy Orton.

Stone Cold asked who would win a Battle Royal between the panel and everyone picked themselves, including Austin

There's a lot of knowing-wink-style shills for the Network.

------

Reveal - Phase 3

Seth Rollins

Kofi Kingston

R-Truth

Justin Gabriel (who Austin thought was Fandango)

Randy Orton

Naomi

Daniel Bryan (who gets a huge pop / "YES" chant)

Xavier Woods

The Miz

Tamina Snuka

Rob Van Dam

Steve Austin

Erick Rowan

Luke Harper

Sting (Crow)

Undertaker

------

Austin asked Roman who he would face for his last match and Reigns went with... Austin. Steve said he'd win and Roman said it's not "Attitude" any more. Cesaro said he'd happily face Brock Lesnar, Sheamus went with Randy Savage, Cena picked Vince McMahon (who Austin said is not "the most co-ordinated guy, but is full of piss-and-vinegar"), Sting picked Robocop and Cesaro asked if it was original or remake, but then really picked Undertaker.

Renee and Austin are flirting like mad.

There's now a Q&A with the fans and one asks Sting why he took so long to get to WWE. Sting again confirmed that he definitely wants to have at least one match. Cesaro was asked why he split with Heyman. He said that they are still friends, but Heyman needs to have his full attention on Brock, so they amicably parted ways. A fan said he was a Hogan fan growing up, but went from vitamins to beer as an Austin. The fan (who has a son named Austin) asked Hogan if he still takes vitamins and asked Austin if he still drinks beer. Both said yes.

A hot lady said she loves Cesaro and she asked the panel who their partner would be if they were getting a title shot. Sting picked Cena, Hogan picked Sting, Cena went with Cesaro, Sheamus went with Cesaro, who gave Swagger a shout, elected Sheamus and Reigns said he'd reunite with Dean Ambrose.

A little girl asked Cena who his role model in WWE is. John said Hogan.

Another little girl asked Roman how it felt to be stabbed in the back. He said it was sad ("like a loss in the family"), but they still think he'll see the light after his brothers beat some sense into Seth.

A guy asked if the wrestlers let the fans get to them. Cena said no, Hogan said he can't believe they still pop for him at 61yrs old, Sting said he has had a great relationship with the fans, Sheamus said that a reaction is all that matters, Cesaro said that the fans are passionate like him and he loves it and Roman said that they fans pay their money, so they can cheer / boo who they want, so long as they're loud.

Cena was asked how it will feel if he beats Flair's record. John Cena said that he hopes he doesn't have to because that would mean losing it again.

Hogan essentially said that Cesaro's elimination of Big Show from the Andre Battle Royal was more impressive a feat that him slamming Andre at WMIII.

A little kid asked Roman what it was like debuting, adding that he watched him in FCW and when he appeared on the main show, the kid said he was going to be huge... but the kid's dad said he would be lucky to remain a mid-carder. This got an "ooooh" from the crowd.

A UK fan said that he came to SummerSlam to honour his friend, who died of cancer and he thanked Sting because his friend thought Sting was the greatest. He asked Sting if he will definitely face Undertaker and Sting said that he really wants to.

A fan asked the panel if they see themselves in movies and Roman said he "ain't about that part-time stuff", as did Cesaro. Cena said that he likes doing the movies, but is a wrestler first. The fan mentioned "Boo-tista" and Cena said that people boo him, but he was fantastic in Guardians of the Galaxy (which he was).

A kid asked Cena who will face after defeating Brock Lesnar tomorrow.

A fan asked Hogan how he feels the nWo would have done against The Shield or DX. Hogan said that they would have ran over them all.

Another fan said that it was disappointing that they had a panel this year instead of an Axxess. He also asked Cesaro about Claudio Castagnoli and Cesaro said he didn't know who that was.

And that's yer lot.

------

So they announced 47 characters, but with no Fandango, no Cody Rhodes, no Kevin Nash / Diesel, nothing from NXT (even though it is in the game) and virtually no Divas, I've got to think there are more names to come.

The roster page has been updated with the names mentioned at the reveal, but it also has a "FULL ROSTER COMING SOON" tag at the bottom.

On there, but not mentioned at the panel are -:

Alberto Del Rio

Bad News Barrett

Cameron

Cody Rhodes

Curtis Axel

Sting (Surfer)

Fandango

Mark Henry

Natalya

Ryback

Santino

Summer Rae

That bumps it up to 59 characters, with more promised.

There are no entrance / move videos yet, but I expect them to start going up in the next few days.

This is from WWE.COM.

"In addition to the roster, Renee Young gave the WWE Universe an extra treat by announcing at the panel that WWE's developmental brand, NXT, will be featured in WWE 2K15's myCareer mode. Players will start their career in WWE NXT and have to work their way up the ranks against WWE's brightest prospects in order to make it to the stages of Raw, SmackDown and beyond."

The part in bold gives the strongest hint yet that at least some of the actual NXT roster are going to be in the game.
