what is the best smackdown vs raw game ? and why ?....my pick is 2007 or 2003

Here Comes the Pain is the best of the SvR period.

That was probably my favourite as well, good engine, great move set, good roster from a classic WWE/F time period, decent CAW, storylines in career mode instead of endless matches like the Universe mode is now.

 

Back then the Smackdown series had to be excellent and compete because of the likes of the Wrestlemania and Day of Reckoning series on the Cube and then the eventual arrival on the X-Box of the Raw series, once it become the official annual release by itself, that's when it started getting a bit lazy.

I always remember how great the chair-shots were in HCtP too.

I think it was the first Smackdown game, thanks to RVD being on the roster, where you could do the Van Daminator as a grappling move when holding a chair as well.
