BRM 220
Ferrari have a chance to prove that Malaysia wasn't just a one off this weekend. The heat should be more akin to what we'll see throughout Europe and Canada appose to what we saw in Sepang. If they can split the Mercedes at the least we may be able to start talking about a title challenge. However I suspect it may take circumstances beyond their control to make that happen. Guest Laffy
I think Red Bull made a mistake getting rid of Vettel, I think he still had at least three good seasons in him. I think Ferrari got a steal as it was Vettels boyhood dream to drive for them one day so I hope this can develop into a championship race. I also want to see the youngsters continue their successes. BRM 220
I don't really think Red Bull had much choice. He had a option in his contract and he exercised it. Did Red Bull stand in his way? I doubt it. But looking at it from Vettels viewpoint he had been with Toro Rosso/Red Bull, picking up 4 World Championships by the time he was 26. What else could he achieve by staying at Red Bull of course he could aim for Schumachers records but most of those were set at two teams. Plus you always had the doubters saying that he only achieved what he did because he was in a Red Bull. Leaving Milford Keynes for Maranello was something he had to do for his legacy more than anything. If he ends his career with 4 World Championships he may look back on his descion with some regret. But at 27 years of age he's got plenty of time to cement that legacy yet.
Guest Magic
Yeah Red Bull didn't get rid of Vettel, Vettel got rid of Red Bull, and of course its early days but it's looking to be quite a good move so far for him. I'll get my 1 to 5 picks up later when I finish work but as much as I love Ferrari I think it will be much tougher to get as close to the Mercs this weekend and it'll probably be a silver 1-2. Guest Laffy
I know Vettel might have gone any way but do you not think Red Bull drove him out by not giving him the best car and by favouring Daniel Ricciardo. I know Ricciardo out preformed Vettel but was that down to being given the better car and team chances.

BRM 220
Last years Red Bull could of been the finest piece of work that Adrian Newey and his team had ever designed and it still wouldn't of been that close to the Mercs, the Renault power unit just wasn't there. This year it looks as if they've taken a step in the wrong direction or at the very worst stood still while the others have moved on. The Riccardo thing undoubtly upset Vettel. His comments about beating the Mercs outright in Malaysia more than backs this up in my eyes. Did they favour him? I don't really think so he just made better use of the hardware made avaliable to him whereas I think Vettel maybe lost a bit of motivation. When you consider this is on the back of 4 World Championships again it's not hard to understand.

Guest Magic
Seb likes the car set up in a certain way and if it doesn't suit his style he's not the kind of driver that can ring its neck out and drag a bad car to something better than it should be. Fernando Alonso is the king of that and it seems Ricciado has found a great nack for it too, so last year he was able to outperform the machinery underneath in a way Vettel couldn't. Give Seb a package that fits his style though and he can be untouchable, but it looks to me like he needs the car built around him, so you can understand him going to Ferrari where he will get that. I don't doubt Ricciardo rattled his cage by performing so well last year and he probably thought he had nothing to lose by jumping at ship, especially if the team started to favour Danny then he might have been really fucked. But there's definitively no way Red Bull were actively trying to force him out, or give Danny the better tools last year. I think they would have done everything in their power for most of the season and to try and figure out how to make the car more driveable for him, but with the new rules etc, they and he just couldn't get compatible with it.
