Prison Break is set to return for a new, limited-run series.

The crime drama, starring Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell and Amaury Nolasco as prisoners who go on the run after escaping from jail, will be revived with 10 new episodes.

Wentworth and Dominic, who played brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows, will reprise their roles.

Prison Break, created by Paul Scheuring, ran for four seasons until 2009.

Paul is writing the first episode for the revived show, which is expected to get the green light once he is done.

The new Prison Break is expected to return to screens in 2016.

I wouldn't be surprised if the death was faked by Michael but, yeah, this is kind of interesting but I don't have much hope in the idea. The first series was great TV and the second was fine too but the way the show descended into nonsense was a real shame and really tarnished what a fun, entertaining show it had been. I'll probably watch this but I won't have much faith in it being any good.

season 1 was great and i think in season 2 william fichtner as mahone was fantastic. i cant wait to see what happens. i read that it is one of the most watched boxsets on netflix so maybe its a reason for the sequal.

This is pretty much my exact feelings when it comes to Heroes Reborn.

Yeah, I used to like Heroes too but it had the feel of a show which was written for a couple of series, became popular and then completely dropped off. I think that was actually the case for Prison Break, I don't think it was intented to go beyond two series, and maybe it was the same for Heroes? I'm not sure. Either way, both shows started off really well, had interesting plots and characters and then went on far too long. Lost is another show which fits into the category of 'initially good but went on far too long and became poor', although that's the only one which became unwatchable for me.

i watched the first three seasons a few years back but then heard it was canceled and that there was no final ending to it so i never even bothered with the forth season until a couple of weeks ago to catch up before reborn.

Heroes was meant to go on for around six seasons, but the 2007 Writer's Strike savaged the second season, which only ran for 11 episodes instead of the planned 24.

A lot of shows were affected by the strike, but Heroes was more than most due to the cull of the entire second-half volume called Villains (which ended up being absorbed into a bloated third season).

After setting up a number of great premises (specifically Uber-Peter and Uber-Sylar and their fight behind closed doors)), they then neutered Peter and effectively killed interest in the main protagonist of the show.

That being said Arthur Petrelli was a great character in Season 3, I loved Adam Munroe in Season 2 and Robert Knepper (as he usually is) was captivating as Samuel in Season 4.

sylar for me was the best character but couldnt understand why they would babyface him.

im looking forward to prison break returning, just to see whats happening with the characters and how they can work everyone into storylines. you have t bag in jail, the characters thats have immunity and are out and then obviously michael whos dead.

are they going to have separate storylines or one big cast storyline.

Loved the first 2 series & thought 3 & 4 were ok. Be interesting to see if they bring back The Company after the General was sent to the chair.

Sylar and Peter were Heroes biggest mistakes. Specifically, Peter's power was too broad with no drawbacks, and Sylar was mishandled.
No drawbacks... except for that time he went nuclear and almost wiped out the entire city.
On Topic : Does anyone think we really need more Prison Break? Seriously?
We don't need more, but I'm not going to dismiss it out of hand for that reason. I mean, we don't need (for example) more Burn Notice, Frasier, The Wire, Breaking Bad, etc, etc, etc, but if they announced they were coming back, I'd be well up for it.

For those who think there's no reason at all to watch it, the simple solution is to just not watch it and let those who are interested get on with it.

I literally finished watching the entire series for the first time yesterday, I thought the earlier season were better and it sorta tailed off like has already been said, but this sounds interesting I would like to see where they go with it.
