If you haven't watched the second season, don't read on!

What do you think we're going to be seeing in the next season?

Plotwise: Obviously Archie's arrest will take the forefront, at least in the beginning. I think I read somewhere that his trial is going to kick off the season. I assume we're going to be seeing more of Penny Peabody and all of Hiram's nonsense will continue. I hope we'll see his plotline come to an end this season. I'm getting tired of him.

Characters: Toni's actress is now a season regular so I assume we're going to be seeing more of her (and I think it's safe to say that means more Choni). I read that they are playing with the idea of focusing on a different character each episode rather than always focusing on the core four. Personally I love this idea. Show me more Kevin, please!

I haven't read the comics but are there any regular characters that haven't made an appearance yet? Do you think the farm is going to be a big plot point?

From your mouth to God's ears, I hope. BRING ON THE CULT.

“We’ve been seeding the idea of the farm, and that the farm may not be as altruistic and as benevolent a place as Polly suggests," Aguirre-Sacasa teased to Entertainment Weekly. "What is this place, and what does it mean for Polly? What does it mean for Alice, who is sort of emotionally bereft or hollowed out at the end of season 2?"

It sounds like your dreams might come true, @Salome G. I really hope that ends up happening. A cult is exactly what the town of Riverdale needs. I'd way rather watch The Quiet Sisters duke it out with a cult than watch more Ghoulies vs. Serpents action. Of course, I'm sure there is going to be a lot more of that this season. I don't know how they'd just drop that storyline at this point.

I'm sure we'll see more of Penny too. I sort of want her to just go away because of all the plotlines she's affiliated with at the moment, but I don't really want that. She's too much fun to watch.

Have to admit I didn't like season 2 very much, hated the whole Black Hood plot...it seemed to get more ridiculous as it went on.

I thought season 1 was very goods, it felt much more simple but had some great visuals/moments.

There were parts of season 2 that almost felt like a parody. I really hope season 3 can do better than season 2.

@Salome G and @The Wild Things, I hope that means we're going to be seeing a lot more of the farm then. I've been intrigued by it since it was first mentioned. How did they find out about this farm? Is it something that these "farmers" do on the regular? It's screamed cult all along. I would love Riverdale to start moving in that direction and consequently give less attention to the North vs. South drama.

@Kam, I can totally see where you're coming from. There were a lot of aspects of the second season that I wasn't super fond of. I think the first was far superior. I wish they would have wrapped up Black Hood sooner. I wanted to scream when they showed who it was. It was both predictable and nonsensical at the same time, which is quite the feat. I think it was just a little too heavy on Betty and the Coopers too. The other characters were all involved in basically the same drama and I wasn't a big fan of all of that. Additionally, because they had so many players involved, it got really convoluted. Like you, I appreciated the simplicity of the first season.

Sometimes I thought that they were trying to come off as a parody. I think Riverdale is good about poking fun at themselves. They know they're campy and ridiculous. They embrace it.

*cut to me levitating with joy for like, a full five minutes*

A lot of the second season was just aimless. It felt like they were making it up as they went along, not like they had a structure in mind for it. They would pick up threads and then just drop them for the next thing. For the third season, I'd like to see way less of Hiram and his mob nonsense and way more of...God, literally anything else.

@Maya, I think we've all asked ourselves those questions. Hopefully, they'll give us some answers while moving away from some of the gang/mob/Hiram madness.

@Kam, I liked the first season better too. I liked the Black Hood storyline at first because I love a good Riverdale whodunnit but they pushed it way too far. Their attempts to draw it out only convoluted it. It seems like a long, windy road that's going to lead us to more Dark Betty. I'm not a huge fan of Dark Betty.

@Salome G, it really was aimless a lot of the time. They tried to have too many things going on at once. A lot of the subplots ended up adding nothing to the story...well, nothing but confusion. Please, for the love of all that is holy, let Hiram have to go away on business for like a year.

I would also like it to move away from The Coopers a little bit. It's sort of moving in a similar direction PLL did when it became The Hastings show. The Lodges are like the DiLaurentis family. I don't see them moving away from that though.

@The Wild Things, I would love to see them shift the heavy focus away from the Coopers as well but I don't think that's going to happen. Hopefully they will be in the limelight because of the farm and not for "The Darkness". Is that too much to ask for?

Funny that you made a PLL reference and the first episode of the season is called Labor Day.

Ha, of course that's what it's called. There better not be a yellow top anywhere.

Oh no, I'm sure that they won't shift away from the Coopers. They've made sure to leave doors open for every single member of the Cooper family.

Alice/Polly - I assume the whole "friend from the farm" thing is going to spice things up for both of these characters.

Alice - Her husband is locked up and is still aware that she killed someone. She's also going to be crying a lot, I'm sure. They love to make her cry.

Alice/Chic - I don't think the Chic storyline is over. I think he's alive and that's all going to come into play.

Betty - The "darkness" isn't going to be over. If I'm right and Chic's alive, she's going to be dealing with all of that nonsense. She'll also probably be head (or at least the brains) of the "Free Archie" campaign.

Hal - I'm sure we haven't heard the last of this joker. He'll stir the pot for all of the Coopers.

I don't think the Chich storyline is over either, @The Wild Things.

Did you all see the teaser trailer for season 3 from Comic-Con? The very end shows that they're totally doing something cultish with the farm people. I can't wait.

Yes! I can't wait to see where they go with it. Mendes said something about how there were going to be forces at work in Riverdale, sort of mystical but not supernatural. I'm assuming that she's talking about the cult. I wonder how this will end up affecting Alice and FP?

EDGAR EVERNEVER.

Also, that jalopy does not look safe.

It doesn't look safe at all. Edgar Evernever...what a name! Even though his name sounds like comic material I'm assuming that he's an original character and not from the comics, is that correct? From what I've read about him he sounds like he'll be a nice change of pace. Do you think they'll try to tie him into Black Hood?

I'm guessing he must be involved in some previous plot in Riverdale since Jason and Polly knew to go there.

It really is a great name. I don't think he's from the comics. I haven't seen that anywhere at least. I've never read them though so I can't say for sure. I'm sure it would be mentioned somewhere if he was though. I could see tying him into The Riverdale Reaper. I would be more interested in that.
His daughter Evelyn is in the comics, but I think he was invented for the show. I love the detail in the casting notice that "an actor with ‘90’s-2000’s pop-culture cachet is a plus." Is Andrew Keegan too obvious?

I cant wait for season 3

Have you all watched the premiere yet? I was really digging it until the last like four minutes. I have no idea what happened. I'm hoping Betty was just having hallucinations from Adderall withdrawal. (Is that you, Spencer Hastings?)
I watched it @Hal and I'm in agreement with you. I don't really know what happened at the end there. I keep seeing interviews about how they are not taking a supernatural route, so I think that the bit with Betty has to be a hallucination. Her convulsions would make it appear as though it was an overdose. I'm hoping for that at least.

i think it's poisoooooon.
