I love watching these games because it showcases the people's determination to win even when they are physically and mentally challenged. Sometimes, the athletes don't even have to win the race to be successful because finishing the race will be an achievement for them already.

I like watching them too, depending on the sport being showcased. There's usually a few athletes who were wounded while serving in their nation's military. I like hearing their stories and it sounds silly but it motivates me to try harder and whinge less.
I concur about the athletes that became physically disabled due to their service for their country. Sometimes I wish that we just end the wars, and replace it with more friendly competitions rather than showing force through violence.
Seeing the impaired really crush it in any kind of competition (like that blind guy who plays Killer Instinct) is really inspiring. It really demonstrates that if you have the mind for it, you can rise above whatever your limitations are.

It's inspiring to see people giving their all despite their disabilities which goes in line with the message of every sport. I think I've seen some articles about how some Paralympic athletes participate in the Olympics and vice versa, so sometimes I wonder if this separation is necessary.
I often refer to them as 'abled differently' because they clearly demonstrate that anyone can rise above their limitations and succeed in whatever path they chose to follow. The Paralympics are a joy to watch, mostly because of the determination and strong will that these athletes display.

I like how coined the term "abled differently". In relation to that, I tell myself that we all have disabilities, we just don't accept it.

Many of these Paralympic athletes are far better than the rest of us with their skills. Sadly though, they are still looked down by society when the spotlight is no longer on them.
