The celebrated comedian has had to pull out of the gig because of tweets he made 10 years ago, and this goes on to show that the internet never forgets. Did he make the right choice?

I'm thinking that it would get awkward and worse for Hart if he did nothing and showed up to host anyway. Now that those tweets are out, his career's going to fade at least for a while if not permanently.
This reminds me of the incident with James Gunn. I'm not aware of how serious his tweets are, but it feels like there is no other way but to step back once people blow up your (past) actions on the internet. Did he at least apologize?
The academy awards organizers asked him to either apologize or risk being removed as a host and I think he fell short of apologizing, instead saying that people make mistakes and it is part of maturing. I doubt if this will have any effect on his career and popularity.
It’s such bull. It was said 10 years ago and he has been apologizing ever since. Move On
It will have only a temporary effect on his career. Seems like others in entertainment have eventually been fine after Tweeting or saying controversial stuff.
Come on, why are we living in the past? If Kevin is still telling about those tweets 10 years ago in our time, then yes, he should not be a host. When people are stating the past errors, then they are saying that people can't improve or become better.
In a way, I agree that people need to move on and rather than keep talking about it, Hart should give everyone else a break. It doesn't make any difference to the Oscars since there are many other excellent hosts around.
