Eddie Murphy brought back his characters from when he was on the SNL cast 35 years ago, such as Mister Robinson, Gumby, and Buckwheat. My favorite skit was Buckwheat as The Masked Singer. Did you catch any of this episode?

No, I didn't even realize he was still around. I loved watching his comedy routine back in the day, but it's been a while since I've seen him in anything. Is he on SNL regularly now, or was that a special episode?
I never watched Eddie on SNL, but I mostly remember watching movies like Shrek, Nutty Professor, Bowfinger, Doctor Dolittle and Imagine That, among others. I doubt if I have seen anyone as hilarious in my lifetime!
Murphy as The Masked Singer was hilarious. It was a decent SNL overall — not as many unfunny skits for once! A testament to how decently his characters held up.
He was always my kind of comedian. My kind of comedy. Very funny man. Him and Chevy Chase were the best parts of the early SNL lineups in my opinion.
Those early lineups set the bar high. Too high, some would say, because no other season produced as much talent. Wasn't Eddie the first cast member to go into movies?
Eddie's the man. He's one of those who can come out, not say a thing and you'll still laugh. I watched it, and it wasn't a waste of time.

Definitely one of the better recent SNLs. Murphy's Gumby and Velvet Jones skits were weaker than his others in this episode, though. Good opening monologue!
