I wanna vtake you to a gay bar, gay bar, gay bar...

Any one else a fan of "Gay Bar" and Electric Six?

Personally, I love them. I think they are fantastic. I managed to download some more songs apart from Gay Bar and Danger Danger, and I haven't been dissapointed. They remind me of a new millennium Bloodhound Gang, only more tongue-in-cheek than ever. And the videos are funny as hell (the Gay Bar one had me in stitches, and no one at school walks by without doing the gay clap).

So.. opinions...

Electric six are definitley a unique gruop, with some intersting choices in songs, however to be honest i am not too keen on them. Just a bit too stupid for me.
I'm planning on getting there album, Fire. I like em, bit of comedy doesn't do any hard. When Danger Danger came out everyone loved it round here and everyone round heres gone mad for Gay bar. Was great sitting in a classroom in activities week and seeing two classes sing the song and laugh at it. Uber cool.
I think they alright but I can sense the novelty will begin to seriously wear off.
I like both songs that ive heard of theirs. The videos are really funny, if not a little gross lol :P I don't think i will be able to look at a salt sellar (sp?) again without laughing! I don't like them enough to get the CD or anything but there not bad at all. :)

Same. We'll be walkin past in the corridor and some random person will shout the "OWWW!" bit or "GIRL! I WANNA TAKE YA TO A GAY BAR!!" and everyone will laugh. We were doing our mocks and pissin off the teachers majorly by doin the gay clap when they were takin our test papers in. No one was caught it was hilarious.

I used to like it but now I just don't find it funny. The formula for Gay Bar's success is simple, use a word which stupid teenagers will find funny and stick it anywhere in the song and everyone'll love it. Eurgh. It's boring.

I agree with most of that. There's nothing wrong when bands come out with an amusing song, but I always wait to see if they follow it with something else decent or a crap cash in follow up song after it. Unfortunately, I think after the success Electric 6 had with Danger! High Voltage, this is exactly what they've done.

Loved 'Danger: High Voltage' (it's REAL name... Danger Danger? HA!)

Haven't heard Gay Bar. Don't think I want to.

Wel...I LOVE GAY BARS, But im not to much for the song.

It has no meaning, its just a joke to music. Maybe some good lines like 'Ive Got Something To Put In You' then a banana or whatever it was shows up. But it has no meaning and my type of music has to have a meaning for me to like it. This doesnt.

Yeah I agree with the last part of that. I'm also sick of Tenacious D and Liam Lynch, which kinda proves it.

Saw the video today and it didnt impress me. Looks like they only released it for the cheap publicity to me because its supposedly so 'controversial' and full of innuendos.

The song and the video has me in stitches everytime.

I quite like Electric 6, bit different from my usual tunes, but I enjoy them quite a bit.

I've seen Electric Six live twice now and they were great both times. True, their music isn't for everyone but it is just pure entertainment and escapism which makes a nice contrast from the usual whining self indulgent rubbish that you normally hear!
