Posted June 12, 200321 yr anybody any ideas on who holds the record for the longest unbeaten streak when entering a promotion/federation???
June 12, 200321 yr It's been moved. Kano, try to post wrestling topics in wrestling forums from now on. If you have trouble understanding the way the forums work, try reading the Forum Rules again.
June 12, 200321 yr according to the WWE trivia book the longest heavyweight title reign was Bruno Sammartino 17th May 1963 to 18th january 1971 that might be it as this does have some WCW stuff in it but it is things like names of the Nitro Girls.
June 12, 200321 yr either Andre the Giant (though apparently, he suffered a few losses, but they were ignored by most including WWE) or Goldberg is all i can think off
June 12, 200321 yr Yeah I think it was Andre is unbeaten streak lasted about 10 years or something not sure about the amout of years but it was something like that
June 12, 200321 yr Andre's supposed 10 year unbeaten streak was just hype to promote his match with Hogan at Wrestlmania, he had in fact lost several times before that match but they were ignored for the sake of hype.
June 12, 200321 yr I think Goldberg's is probably the legitimate longest, either him or Bruiser Brody who just refused to lose to anyone.
June 12, 200321 yr Yeah I would reckon Goldberg as well, out of interest does anyone know how many match's Brock went unbeaten?

June 12, 200321 yr Originally posted by Craig Van Dam Something tells me 173-0 is a slight exagaration :roll may included house show matches or non nitro, thunder or PPV shows
June 12, 200321 yr Aren't we forgetting Taker he went about two years without losing when he first entered wwf

June 12, 200321 yr Originally posted by Craig Van Dam Something tells me 173-0 is a slight exagaration :roll It was - WCW added some "phantom" wins, this is to take advantage of the fans' short term memory - WCW found out that most of the fans CAN NEVER remember who Goldberg beat in every match - so they added some fake wins to enhane the legacy of Goldberg. The REAL owner of the longest winning matches is: Not Goldberg, nor The Undertaker, nor everyone you all suggested which was extraordinary in the day!!!!! Nor Bruno Sammartino....... I will have to take you all the way to the early 1900's to give you the true man who've never lost a match: Farmer Burns
