Ok so there are your questions and here are MY answers to these questions...

Q1) What religion are you and do you practice it?

I am a Roman Catholic, and yes i do practice my religion, i may not devote as much time to it as i should, and i may not got to Mass every sunday, but i believe in it.

Q2) Does another persons religion make a difference to you?

Not in the slightest, why should it? it doesnt matter what religion or colour a person is, as it is the person on the inside as well as out that really matters, so what if they are Hindu, Jewish or what have you, it makes no difference at all in my opinion.

Q3) When you see or hear the word RELIGION, what is the 1st thing that comes into your head?

WAR, thats is what i think of when i see or hear that word, as most wars are usually fueled by religion in some way and you have to look no further than Isreal...thats is a prime example...

Both are fighting for what they believe in, but at the end of the day, no onewill win,as it wioll continue until something can be done to reolve it as well as any othe rincident like it.

Q4) Can you think of any major incidents or issues that have or do evolve around religion in someway?

Again War...as above, but also the WTC disater, was linked to religion in a way..I will never forget that day...and im sure neither will any of you.

Q5) Do you think the abolishion of Religion would make the world a better place, and if it was what would be different and why?

Abolishing religion will never happen, but if it did then i belive it would make the world a better place to live...WHY? well for the simple reason..everyone would be equal, no one would be seen as an ethnic minority, well not at leats by people who are prejudice or racist towards blacks, africasn, asians etc.

You have now read the questions and seem my answers, so now i would like you to share your views on the topic, using the questions above as a guideline.

Q5) Do you think the abolishion of Religion would make the world a better place, and if it was what would be different and why?

I think it would be worse off. People need an escape and came up with religion for the answers to the questions that in reality can't be answered. Without the escape, everyone will be trapped in an unanswerable situation.

Q1) What religion are you and do you practice it?

I'm a believer in God with a slightly Baptist slant - not that I ever attend though.

Q2) Does another persons religion make a difference to you?

None.

Q4) Can you think of any major incidents or issues that have or do evolve around religion in someway?

How about the fact that if you address the issue with a group of people under the age of, say, 25, you'll usually find that most of them launch into some kind of ill-conceived tirade against it. This is done in an attempt to be "different" or "anti-establishment" (lit: "cool") but they fail to realise that by doing so they become part of the majority. Believing is an anti-establishment and minority group nowadays, certainly in my generation.

Q5) Do you think the abolishion of Religion would make the world a better place, and if it was what would be different and why?

No.

thanx for replying guys..

Q1) What religion are you and do you practice it?

Being in Northern Ireland you are perceived to be something. I'd be perceived to be Protestant but I wouldn't consider myself of any religion.

Q1) What religion are you and do you practice it?

Protestant and do I hell.

Q2) Does another persons religion make a difference to you?

Not really, so long as they're not a Muslim extremist with 70 lbs of semtex in the boot of his taxi. In Paisley it's not that much of an issue, 7 miles down the road in Glasgow it's almost more of an issue than in Ireland.

Q3) When you see or hear the word RELIGION, what is the 1st thing that comes into your head?

Death

Q4) Can you think of any major incidents or issues that have or do evolve around religion in someway?

The bombings at the Munich Olympics, the Holocaust, the division of Palestine and creation of Israel, any bombing by the IRA or UVF, a Celtic vs Rangers derby (you have to be naive to think that's about football), any Holy war, the crucifixion, the killing of Joan of Arc...I'd get my encyclopaedia out, but I really can't be bothered.

Q5) Do you think the abolishion of Religion would make the world a better place, and if it was what would be different and why?

Yes, for two very simple reasons. 1.) It divides you from birth and you have absolutely no control over it. 2.) It would stop any need to defend a religion, you'd only need to defend humanity.

People don't go to church for enlightenment anyway, they go to receive support for a few hours and to make themselves feel better about themselves. The fact you can go and repent sins so easily almost negates the whole ideal behind sins, heaven and hell in the first place.

You can guarantee one thing though, religion would be a hell of a lot different if dinosaur fossils had been found centuries earlier and world travel was as easy centuries ago also.

Q1) What religion are you and do you practice it?

The Chris Jericho 'Assclown' religion. I practice it whenever he isn't being buried, so I've not done much over the past 2 years.

Q2) Does another persons religion make a difference to you?

Hell no.

Q3) When you see or hear the word RELIGION, what is the 1st thing that comes into your head?

What can be my next religion-based joke?

Q4) Can you think of any major incidents or issues that have or do evolve around religion in someway?

In many ways, Sept. 11th was, otherwise nearly any war in the Middle East and all the troubles in Northern Ireland.

Q5) Do you think the abolishion of Religion would make the world a better place, and if it was what would be different and why?

Yes and no. Obviously, if there was no religion, there would be about 99% less violence in the world, but I suppose it also gives people something to cling on to when they are down, such as Shawn Michaels.

Q1) What religion are you and do you practice it?

I have no religion. Was brought up a christian but I've made my own decision to have no religion and that means I can't practice it. :)

Q2) Does another persons religion make a difference to you?

Depends if its shoved down my throat

Q3) When you see or hear the word RELIGION, what is the 1st thing that comes into your head?

Shit

Q4) Can you think of any major incidents or issues that have or do evolve around religion in someway?

Any war in the modern world. Every religion thinks it's superior to the other and it causes trouble.

Q5) Do you think the abolishion of Religion would make the world a better place, and if it was what would be different and why?

Yes, it would be much better. People would get on and there would be more communication as people would tell there problems to people, not some person they call "god". The world would be a more peaceful place and there would be no minoritys

Q1) What religion are you and do you practice it?

I am of no religion, and so obviously I don't.

Q2) Does another persons religion make a difference to you?

As long as they don't shove it down my throat, no.

Q3) When you see or hear the word RELIGION, what is the 1st thing that comes into your head?

People wishfully thinking. Can't explain why.

Q4) Can you think of any major incidents or issues that have or do evolve around religion in someway?

Every way ever.

Q5) Do you think the abolishion of Religion would make the world a better place, and if it was what would be different and why?

Yes, for the two reasons Kenny stated, but only because he said them though, I couldn't think of them by myself.

1) Staunch atheist

2)In general no however the neo-facist Christian Right in America scare the shit out of me e.g. militant pro lifers, anti sex, drugs 'n' rockand roll types, KKK.

3) Oppression

4) Religion has been used through out history as a pretext for govenments to commit crimes against humanity. Wars have little to do with religion but governments use it as a justification e.g The Crusades were about European Kings trying to get hold of various important trade routes. Its easy for the media to blame events such as 9/11 on 'religious fundamentalists' rather than having to explain what would actualy drive people to the point of flying a plane into a building.

5)Probably. I have no problem with religion, just the manipulation of it to fule greed, war, racism and oppression.
