Hello...

Has anyone played the new Tomb Raider yet? I was planning on buying it after seeing the initial screenshots (which looked really good) but I'm definately not getting it now, due to the fact I haven't read a single decent review for it yet. If its one thing that makes a game unplayable, its a fiddly control system, and AOD controls make the game, at times unplayable. I've also heard the game has several bugs in it.

Thoughts/Opinions Please.....

Peter, you have just made an excellent move by not getting Tomb Raider.

Once, I was going to my nearest Blockbuster and the store assistant told me that Tomb Raider is the "Must - Rent" game - I didn't believe the assistant.

The problem with most anticipated sequels or games - it usually comes out disappointing par some exceptions - but mostly it is.

The problem is - the developers have a need to meet the deadline and not to upset potential buyers - Eidos delayed Tomb Raider at least twice times!

It's all about money - no matter how finished the source code - the developers and publishers only think about money.

Ask SIGames about that with CM4

TR: AOD hasn't been rated really well. apparently it's still like the old tomb raider games, which may seem like a good thing, but it means pixel perfect jumps, instant death and any other nuisenses.

if your a huge lara croft fan, then by all means get it. anybody else intrested i'd advise to rent it

MUST RENT GAME

It's been a while since I've been here, for reasons like being banned, but, on the subject...

I'll review it (if allowed) at some time soon, but for now:

Peter - If you are interested in playing the Game, as the subject says: You have to rent this game.

The controls are very different to previous installments, but, until I review it, rent it. If you even snitched at liking any other Tomb Raider game, it plays smoothly, and it has froze in places, but you can bring it down to anything can't you.

So, if you don't want to pay full price, though, judging by the (lets be honest) content of decent games out there at the moment, if you have £30 odd quid lying there, (yes, not £40, unless you go to GAME!) Then it probably is worth your cash. But only probably .

Hope my short term review helped/

Holy S***, CFB is back...Colin's game forum is in danger!

My sister has this game and she said it's crap. Definitely not as good as the others.

It's her opinion, not mine, I don't play Tomb Raiders. (not usually ne way, used to)

Core Design need to realise that games must be improved upon. Keeping the same controls, the same engine and the same format from the original Tomb Raider games might please a select number of die-hard fans, but it's not going to go down well with the newer generation of gamers.

According to reports, the new TR game is buggy, boring, annoying and poorly designed. And I nearly blew my money on it.

*shame*

That word "NEARLY" sounds like you had a right result and saved your money??? If you want my advice, save it for SD 5 ;)

Save it till SD 5 - a game which doesn't come out till at least October/November?!?! - that's crazy!

What to do in the meanwhile?

Get a new game and in the meanwhile save for that game or wait till christmas to get SD 5.

No save the money, so you can be sure of getting SD 5 asap! Or, go to Rebellion ;) and get SD 5 for Christmas.

I'm lucky, my birthday's on the 29th November, right close to when all of the new SD games come out...

It's better to get a new game NOW and save again till November - it will be plently of time to get the game then. - makes sense.

Don't Worry, I'm Calm

I'm calm now, Seabass, so, I'm not gonna "run wild" on the Gaming Forum yet, 'cause I realise that's what put some users against me in the first place, for, well, going over the top!

I'm still gonna preview/review/do tips on games, but I'm not gonna you know...be the old CfB.

So, no worries Colin, your moderator, I'm user, I respect that, and I've gotta earn respect before I can be in your league to challenge for the well whatever it is.

Cheers/
