Hey yo just updating you fans on probably the best WWE game yet SmackDown 5 Here comes the Pain for PS2

 

RELEASE DATE

The game is due for release in USA on Oct 28th however for us UK fans the game has been put back from Nov 14th to Nov 21st.

 

NEW MATCHES

3 new match types have been confirmed they are Elimination Chamber, Diva's Bra & Panties match plus First Blood matches however only the male wrestlers will bleed the Diva's will not.

 

ROSTER

The game should feature 4 different referee's Earl Hebner,Mike Chioda,Nick Patrick & Tim White.

 

New wrestlers confirmed for SD5 include Goldberg, John Cena, Rey Mysterio, Ultimo Dragon, Scott Steiner, Chavo Guerrero, Dave Batista, Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjiman.

 

Only 8 Diva's have been confirmed for SD5 they are Torrie, Stacy, Trish, Victoria, Jazz, Lita, Sable & Stephanie McMahon.

 

As for the Legends they will include Legion of Doom, Sgt Slaughter, Roddy Piper, Jimmy Snuka, Ted Dibiase & the old skool Undertaker.

 

However the list for the WWE stars who are know longer in the game goes on so far as i'm aware this list now includes the following-Jeff Hardy, Hulk Hogan, Zach Gowan, Maven, Molly Holly, APA, FBI, Nathern Jones, William Regal & La Resistance Plus from the legend section old skool Hogan and now Ultimate Warrior!

 

ARENAS

SD5 will have a total of 20 different areans including, Raw A&B, SmackDown A&B, Heat, Velocity, Bad Blood & Wrestlemania XIX.

 

TITLES

The story mode should have the following titles up for grabs- WWE title(SD), World title (RAW), World Tag Team (RAW) Tag Team (SD), Intercontinental (RAW) US title (SD) plus a Womens Title & a Hardcore title but they will be no European or Undisputed belts.

 

CREATE MODE

They will be no create a Belt or create a PPV but they should be now upto 8 stars for a Stable.

 

MISC INFO

Evoultion stable will appear, Kane will be unmasked and Christian will have new haircut.

Does anyone know if any music from "real" bands, like Matt Hardy, Kane, Zach Gowen (?), Evolution etc, will be excluded from the game, much like Maven's in SD4!?

The game looks cool but it should have these features:

 

10 people in ring at one time(For 10-man elimation tag)

Create a PPV & Belt.

I could go on forever, This game is going to be the best Wrestling game(Until the next comes out) but it is missing quite a lot.

Most of what you suggest would require a hell of a lot of programming expense, and a lot would also not be doable on a PS2. The maximum amount of people in a ring that a console like a GC or a PS2 can handle is 7, and that won't change until the PS3 comes out. The roster cannot be constantly updated with everything, and there is a limit on how many people you can fit in the game. Seeing as Jeff Hardy has been fired for drug abuse, including him would hardly be seen as sensible...

There are heaps of Stoners in the world & you only get angry at Jeff.

 

And yeah that would be a lot of programing, but hell they can Delay it, I'm not gonna get it Straight away

 

But in Smackdown: Just Bring It you could get 8 or 9 people on the screen at one time.

 

And because you hate Jeff so much, i guess you don't like Mysterio either.

My brother has a gamecube and the recent WM XIX had the "real" songs (Matt Hardy, Kane etc) replaced by dodgy instrumentals. A good point though, Cena's rap was on there! Hopefully THQ or whoever will see fit to put on the "real" songs cos otherwise it sounds stupid!

Just wondering, in this issue of PS2 MAX, it says in the STOP PRESS section (shots they had to squeeze in) under neath the screen shots it says SmackDown! 5 Taste The Pain

 

Taste The Pain? Later in the mag it says Here Comes The Pain in an advert, obviously a mistake earlier, or is the name subject to change?

Damn! Your right, it does sound stupid. Why when they pay the bands to do theme's can they not inlucde a clause that it is free to use in games?

Both of the Wrestlemania games have been like that, I think anyway. But I think they put more effort in trying to get the correct music in the SD! series, and with Raw 2 you can just add it anyway with the burner thingy (if that's there, don't own an Xbox, so I don't know) which kinda sucks for Gamecube owners.

 

Anyhoo, the THQ hype machine did state that all themes should be there, just have to wait and see I suppose.

For a start, Zach Gowen isn't in the game. I've heard Evolution's will be in but not too sure about motorhead's singing with it. Remember the original? Just the music, it MIGHT be that one, I can't say.

 

As for the others, I'm clueless...

 

Go to http://www.ign.com and preview their videos. You can see most entrances on there. And screenshots + other videos ect... it's quite gd...

 

Broadband is recommended tho to view them...
