Recently I read that Channel 5 had bought the rights to show four WWF PPV's and WWF Heat.

Does anyone have any info as to if this is true and if so when will Heat start airing on C5?

C5 have basically picked up the same contract that C4 once had. They will show Heat, and the PPV's (Backlash,Vengeance,Fully Loaded/Invasion). I don't think they have rights for the Rumble though, what with all the Box Office crap this year, although they said that they will probably buy the rights for that too.

As the next PPV to air on C5 will be Backlash, they will probably start to air Heat about that time.

Hopefully they'll show things at a more reasonable hour, and won't edit things, you know, seeing as they have porn as well.

Yeah, the porn content on C5 is a good sign, but you could have said the same about C4.

Yes, Channel 4 do show tonnes of porn, but more people like to complain to channel 4 then channel 5. Simple reason being, not alot of people watch/recieve channel 5.

Heres hoping uncut, adverts I don't mind too much, maybe they could show it live, well with WWF NY bits in it.

Someone from Channel 5 said the rumours about them buying WWF programming were false.

With the success of the Royal Rumble on Sky Box Office, I think both the WWF and Sky would prefer having the remaining 3 PPVS on Box Office too. They might end up putting Heat on Channel 5, although Sky could get that too.

Check this reply from channel5.com about their proposed "BUYING" of WWF stuff.

"Our Planning and Acquisitions Department have informed us that they are

considering purchasing the rights to a WWF show. However, this has not

been confirmed and we have no further details at this time. We would

suggest that you keep an eye on future listings for further information."

Meaninig, they aint bought jack, but still considering it. So if I was you, I'd head straight to

and tell them to get it

Channel 5 have no wwf programming at all. A lot of sites were fed the same crap by 2 certain people and it propogated.

This had a negative effect on the enthusiasm on channel 5. less emails from people thinking they already have it = less chance of us not paying for every ppv..

thanks.. youknow who you 2 are

Then lets all email Channel 5 and tell them we would like them to get the events.

The email "Ash" posted above is the excact one I got about 3 weeks before the Rumble, that suggests to me that nothing has changed since then.

Just goes to show that wrestling fans have short attention spans
