Posted March 17, 200420 yr Hi I have decided to get a new games machine, primarily for WWE games. And a few football ones maybe. I still really like No Mercy on my N64, but the games nowadays look so good i cant resist! However, which machine do people think would be best for WWE games? i know theres a loada Smackdown games on PS2, but what about the wrestlemania xix gamecube? or raw2? any opinions would be great cheers,
March 18, 200420 yr i have both gamecube and the ps2 both great take your pick....best for wwe games is ps2 x-box wwe games are crap
March 18, 200420 yr I'd recommend the PS2, easily got the best selection of WWE Games, and I'm sure you'll love the Pro Evolution Series, which is exclusive to the PS2, if you like footie games. The PS2 also has the widest selection of games, with a huge variety.
March 18, 200420 yr great stuff!!! much appreciated, thanks very much :-) just have to choose a good outlet now
March 18, 200420 yr If you've got it near you - I recommend going to Gamestation - they do excellent deals on PS2 consoles from used to new.
March 18, 200420 yr Originally posted by Peter I'm sure you'll love the Pro Evolution Series, which is exclusive to the PS2 Not any more, the licence that sony signed with Konami to have PES as an exclusive PS2 game expired in January so Pro Evolution Soccer 4 will be available on the X-box it could possibly be on the GameCube providing Nintendo are willing to pay.
March 19, 200420 yr And it's out on the PC now, but IMO (and I know I'm in a minority) it's pretty sucky anyway. Go for the PS2, it's the only option.
March 19, 200420 yr PS2 MAD!!! The answer is obvious...completely... PS2 is the console to get, and I'm not going to begin to explain into great detail as to why, it shouldn't need explaining really, sure, it's my opinion, and I know many don't agree, but anyone with sense would buy a PS2. The hoards of games coming out this year are not to be sniffed at by anyone for any console though... If your interested in wrestling games for your PS2 then look no further than the BEST WWE Game on the market: SD!HCTP XBOX games (Wrestling in particular) are crap, and don't get me started on GC. Many people will agree with me in this "battle" because I don't need to explain any more on how much better PS2 is...Graphics, Gameplay, Online Capability, the list goes on...as do I on this subject... So, I'll finish there by saying: PS2 is the console to get...you will not regret it at all! However, if you go and by, say, an XBOX, while all your mates with any sense by a PS2, and you go aroun their house to play on it...you'll regret so much not choosing the beauty that is PS2. DO NOT LOOK ANY FURTHER. PS2 is the place. All said is 100% True. Anyone care to argue?...Thought not...CfB
March 21, 200420 yr IMO PS2 would be weapon of choice. It has a huge variety of games, has fairly good graphics, and an in built dvd player (so no £30 extra like Xbox). Also the smackdown games are the best WWE ones for any console. The gamecube has games which are mostly aimed at young children, which is a downfall imo, and Xbox has only got a few really good games on it, ok they may have superb graphics and playability, but why shell out all that money for only a couple of great games?
March 21, 200420 yr The gamecube has games which are mostly aimed at young children' date=' which is a downfall imo[/quote'] You're right - Nintendo has always gone for "cute" characters but the chaps at Nintendo produces quality games - from the Mario and Zelda series - they've done well. The Gamecube does have excellent Sonic games from Sonic Adventure DX (ported from the Dreamcast) and the ability to play Game Boy games through a GB Player add-on. But I do agree with your view on PS2 being the best, it's the undisputed king of consoles and a huge range of games with my personal favourite genres being racing games and sports games.
March 21, 200420 yr Probably the game is in it's "planning" stage with ideas being thrown about between the makers and the WWE.
April 25, 200420 yr The GameCube is the best choice, because of the fact that the games are MUCH, MUCH better. And people who say that no other console can compete with the PS2, are just being naive. And besides, the Nintendo Franchise has been around MUCH longer then the X-Box(Obviously) and the Sony(Console) brand PUT together! But, as another note, X-Box Live is a hell of a lot better then the dull PS2 Online, with nothing really to offer. Sure, PS2 Online is free, but who cares? I'd seriously rather pay $5.99/m or even $49.99/y for an online service that is more detailed, has more features, and is better organized, then that of PS2 Online, being a free online service. So face it, X-Box Live DOMINATES PS2 Online ANY day of the week, anywhere in the world.
April 26, 200420 yr ...It's been said before and said again...shouldn't need explaining really... PS2. As said by Peter earlier, more variety etc, the PS2 specialises in EVERY game genre. FPS, Footy, WWE, Strategy (except those bearded folk...PC Gamers...) Puzzle, Beat 'Em Up, erm...Platfomer, you name it... The XBox and GC specialise in only one type of game IMO...Crap... All of their games are crap (IMO) No choice, it's either gonna be really exceptional...or really crappy, take your pick. Wth PS2, you get truly amazing, brilliant, average, not so good, poo. more games, BETTER games (with the exception of Crush Hour!) Take my advice, buy a PS2, God, all you have to do is open your eyes. Go on, open them, Now. There? See? Have you got a PS2 yet? Do ya? Please never ask this again, when I seen this thread I thought it was up for either a prank, or simply, to annoy me and the "proper" gamers (PS2 gamers) lol, PS2 mate! Chris
April 26, 200420 yr Right, most of the people on this site are PS2 fanboys so i'm just going to say this. The Playstation to is a complete and utter scam. You buy the original console, which was £350 on release, now somewhere around £140, still more expensive than the other two consoles and the technology is inferior. The Playstation 2 was also designed to ware out after a while. I can guarentee anyone who's had a PS2 for a while now is experiencing problems. Disk read errors, some dvd's not playing, games not working. Well, sony wanted this, why do you think the coloured PS2's have just hit the market? Oh and dont forget memory cards... somthing like £25 for 8MB of memory. You can buy a 30 Gigabyte hard drive for that price! And soon we will be introduced to the PS2's hard drive. Which will probably be somewhere around £60 for 9 gigabytes of space. I'm not even going to tell you about controllers, the eyetoy, multitaps or the other poor perepherals. Games however are ridiculous, playing £40 that only costs £1 or £2 to produce. Alright, taking all the variables into consideration games should cost around £20 for a fair deal. It's mostly licencing costs from Sony that push up the price of games. Soon to hit the shelves is the PSX, the portable playstation 2. Just trust me on this one.... avoid it like the plague. Of course if you know what Sony are doing you can see why they are scamming us out of all this money. The Playstation 3, or more specifically the Cell Processor. They're spending billions on it and they know they can't make that money back with just PS3 sales. Of course, to be fair Microsoft aren't great. But the Xbox is not a rip off by a long shot. And Nintendo are trying to convince buyers that they care about them. You can get a lot of free stuff with nintendo games by collecting points for their "reward system". The only real arguement against the Xbox is, it's too big. Which is pathetic. Measurements taken have shown the different in size between the Xbox and PS2 is only that of 2 Rubix cubes. As for range of games, yes the PS2 has the most diverse, but more and more games are becoming muli-platformed. Xbox may have fewer exclusives but the graphics and gameplay are much more advanced. And the Gamecube has many exclusives, but I find many of these childish. Which is a cliched view of the console but it's not altogether wrong. I myself own all three consoles. And the Xbox is the best by far. It's something you can only really understand if you have one. Okay, i'll stop my rant now and carry on waiting for Half-life 2. Just a few more years... lol
April 26, 200420 yr Right, most of the people on this site are PS2 fanboys Totally agreed. Granted, I may only own a PS2, but I play a hell of a lot of X Box and Gamecube games on other people's systems and to claim that one console is far superior to another is absurd. All three systems have their ups and downs, and while the PS2 may very well be the best available to buy, the gap in quality between the three consoles isn't quite as vast as some people make it out to be. The fact is, all 3 consoles have great games available for them. You can't go wrong with whatever you decide to buy. But my advice is to buy the console that the majority of your friends own. You can swap games, borrow games and 2 player games are a lot more fun if both guys are good at the title in question. Plus, you won't get the teasing and taunting if you buy what they have. :)
