Hey, @Gareth The Great, that is a really good idea. A small recorder would be just the job for saving some prose or dialogue that comes to me when I don't have the opportunity to write them down, for example, when driving. I think I will invest in one as soon as I can and see if it helps.

It seems to be an accepted fact that one of the best ways to curb the effect of global warming that humans inflict on the world, is to become vegetarian! This is due to the amount of greenhouse gases cattle produce. It is second in importance only to the reduction of fuel consumption.

Has any member here had a go at trying to write a novel? If so I wondered if you have any tips. I am about 50 pages into my novel, but it is hard to put aside time to get any further. I first took notice of Matthew McConaughey when he starred with Al Pacino in Two For The Money. That is one of those films that was pretty much universally panned by the critics, but despite that I really enjoyed it.

Yes, that was pretty much my view of Cast Away too. I used to believe reviews, but now I am a bit more skeptical. It's like The Da Vinci Code, the book of the film by Dan Brown. I mean, it was top of the bestsellers list for weeks, but I thought it was awful. Trouble is, you have to buy a book or pay for a movie ticket before you know the quality of what you are getting. You wouldn't shell out for a shirt without seeing it first, would you?

The worst Tom Hanks movies? I would go for a) The Da Vinci Code, b) Cast Away. The best? I would think it has to be Apollo 13, closely followed by Saving Private Ryan.

I must admit that Netflix is quite new to me, but I have been catching up on Peaky Blinders on it, and recently I have been watching Unsolved Mysteries, as I used to love the old version. I prefer to watch something that has a basis in reality, something that you can believe could actually happen. There are so many movies to choose from, it would be good if anyone has some recommendations.
