Tommy Boyd Interview

Hi,

This is from the Lilsboys:

This week the LilsBoys interviewed the man who has been labelled as the UK’s Vince McMahon – Tommy Boyd. The former kids TV presenter, 47, is now in the middle of promoting Revival, which is being labelled as the biggest night of British wrestling ever and takes place at the Crystal Palace Arena on Saturday February 9. It features wrestlers from all over the world including Brian Christopher, Eddy Guerrero and Alex Shane.

For more information or to buy a ticket call 020 8776 9502.

Boyd gave his ONLY interview for this event to SunSport Online’s wrestling correspondents the LilsBoys. To read the full webchat go to:

In the interview Tommy talks about:

Taking a bump – “I would like to state on record that there is no way I am taking a bump on Saturday night, from Alex Shane or anyone else for that matter.”

Being a wrestling fan – “I have been a wrestling fan for the last 41 years. I used to spend Saturdays at my grandparents and the highlight was always watching the wrestling on TV. It never struck me that the main bout ended at 4.39pm EVERY week, i.e. just before the footy results started coming in.”

His tip to win the King of England tournament at Revival – “How can you oppose the Americans? I get aggro (sorry 'heat') from the Brits about wild-carding them in, they're just worried they might not hack it against the best. I think they can. But I still rate the US as being ahead of or boys.”

The ‘fake’ blood in wrestling – “It's a water/gel based agent which uses natural sweat to cause the application to drip, don't tell that wuss Shane I said so.”

Becoming a WWF retirement home – “There is zero danger of that happening. I want new faces and new talent. And a fresh, modern look to the product. All the wrestlers we are using are in their primes, you'll be blown away by how good these guys.”

The future – “One day there should, and will, be a British competitor to the WWF with a regular TV show. We hope that it will be us.”

He also talks a lot more about his career and the British wrestling scene. There is also a review of the recent FWA Crunch show.

guys let me give u a hint, u r reading too far between the lines, verging between reality and gimmick, if u get what i mean.

just think about it, he's seen beyond the mat, cactus v tripper at rumble, etc. yet he thinks the blood isnt real?

i guarantee u for a fact, he's not stupid and markish at all.

He's gonna be at Revival and get heel heat? y? because he says these things. So think about it, prolly the biggest heel reaction there?

still believe he thinks the blood is fake?

well if u do, then go ask kimchee how far into uganda he went to get kamala

Boyd was saying over a year ago that the blood is fake. Hell, he even said at last years Royal Rumble that Austin disappeared into the back to get the blood painted on. I honestly don't think he said all this a year ago with Revival in mind. I think he is just more than a little naive when it comes to wrestling. If he is Britain's answer to Vince McMahon then god help British wrestling.
