Benoit's return

Chris Benoit is expected to return around Wrestlemania time. The WWF need a good angle for his return, here are a couple of idea's:

-He could tape a promo for his return saying that he thinks Chris Jericho has turned into an ass and say that that he's returning to prove Jericho wrong.

 

-Coming up to his return, Kurt Angle could start suggesting that Benoit's return is nothing special which prompts a feud between the two men whic we know from the past can produce some quality matches.

 

-Finally, he could turn heel and join the nWo.

 

Benoit deserves to be a main eventer as he has proved before that he can "play with the big boys". His return should be as big as Triple H's but probably won't. I just hope that upon his return, he doesn't get lost in the shuffle because he is one of the best wrestlers in the roster.

Whilst unfortunately he won't get the sort of return Triple H received, I am pretty sure he'll make an impact...even Vince can see that Benoit is a huge talent.

Unfortunately it looks like Benoit will miss Wrestlemania now. If you think his return will be as hyped by the WWF as Triple H's then you are living in dreamworld. Personally I hope Benoit comes back as a heel and I desperatly hope he doesn't get lost in the roster as he is the best wrestler in the World Wrestling Federation.

I actually thought Benoit was quite a good face. Anyway with Y2J and Kurt Angle as heels, he'll have to be a face.

Where was Benoit most successful? WCW. Where was he most popular? WCW. Face or Heel? Face.

 

Not too fussed either way which he comes back as to be honest. Really depends what allignment the big guys have by the time he comes back. With Hall, Nash, Hogan all as heels I'd hate to see him come back as a face and wrestle those guys so I'd say have him heel.

 

I'd say bring him back as a heel in a feud with RVD. A match I'd love to see. He's fought most of the other big names here, RVD would be a great match. Would love to see him feud with Edge too as it's another match we've never really seen. He's fought Rock, Austin, Booker, Y2J, Angle, and I don't wanna see him wrestle Hogan, Hall and Nash. Give him to RVD and/or Edge. Maybe ending with a good triple threat match some time around Summerslam for the IC strap.

Personally I disagree with your first point there Jayden.

 

While he did hold the WCW World Title, I fully believe that he has been far more successful in the WWF. He has been Tag and IC Champ, he has unofficially won the World Title twice, and he has wrestled in countless headline matches.

By all means, bring him back as a face. If a main event wrestler is gone for a long period of time, face or heel, he will be cheered upon his return. It would make sense to bring Benoit back as a face for WM X8, although that's not likely now. I'm sure he could be used in some capacity...A promo, stating his return to wrestling in a month or two. He'd be over like a Canadian in Canada.

On the LAW ( http://www.liveaudiowrestling.com ) Benoit said that he has been told early May is the return date, he'll be at Maina but only for that fan thingy they do every year.

i liked benoit as a face as him and Jericho made a wickid tag team.

 

the problem with being a face these days is that you need good mic skills and / or a personality that is unique to stand out and get much praise. benoit is more of the "silent" type which means him being a face is kinda wierd and doesn't suit him, in other words a heel role suits benoit more

Yep, Benoit is gonna be at Access but the most he'll do at mania is a promo, sadly. He reckons a May or June (!) return is on the cards. Geez....
