Guest Dan
NWA: TNA video game: The deal with EA fell through, but another high-profile game company has stepped up and the negotiations are reportedly in the final stages. Shouldn't be too long before the partnership is officially announced, and the game company behind the bidding should surprise many, as this will be their first attempt at publishing a wrestling game. Credit IGN.com Anyone have any ideas which publisher it could be?
Guest Cactus Jack
Hmm, being their first wrestling game (the publishers) can literally make or break this product.
Guest Alan
It wouldnt surprise me if Acclaim took over, i believe they were the ones who used to produce the WWF/E games like Warzone on the N64.
Guest Russ
Eidos did the Backyard Wrestling game, so it's debatable whether that counts as making a wrestling game. As for the developer, we could guess for forever and a day and probably still not get it, although with Sega getting heavily involved in sports games like Football Manager and Eastside Hockey Manager, it wouldn't surprise me too much to find out that it's Sonic and Co behind the new TNA game. I'm still surprised that it's taken this long to get a NWA TNA game out. TNA are, in my opinion, a bigger promotion than ECW was and they had two games out as soon as they got on national TV. Still, I'm fairly disapointed that EA never got it as it means the AKI engine probably won't be used, but let's see who the mystery publisher is before jumping to conclusions. Guest Dan
Hopefully who ever it is will do a good job, not sure if it will be Eidos, think they are responsible for the Backyard Wrestling game.
Guest Bob Greenberg
Er....sorry to drag this up again, but any more news on this?
Guest Omen
it could be Rockstar i dont think they have done a wrestling game all i know is like the GTA3, GTA VC, Max Payne and State of Emergency
Guest Jack
rockstar wont do it because they only make the type of games in your list. i think acclaim will do it 100% since WWE dropped them. Attitude was a great game and IMO better than Smackdown 1 and this same game was a base for the first ECW one and i think it would be payback to WWE if they did do it. i probably wouldnt buy the game though, i dont know why but i can imaine it not being good and probably second rate like TNA is to WWE
Guest Dan
It won't be Acclaim for 2 reasons, according to IGN , they states it will be the first wrestling game published by the company, Acclaim have several under thier belts already. Also, Acclaim publish the Legends of Wrestling series, so I see it doubtful they wiill release another wrestling game for TNA, could be wrong though. Fletch
as long as we get a good game i dont care and with all the proper superstars liek sabin Jarrett etc
Guest .sixtythree.
they really need to hand this game over to AKI/Jakks so we can have a next-generation version of WWE No Mercy, with a new company as the basis. i know they worked on Def Jam Vendetta, but, come on, that was hardly a wrestling game. Guest Rocky V
As long as its available for all formats, and has their current roster I don't care who makes the game I'll still buy it. Without your financial support of course they will seem second rate. With more financing they will put out a better product. Speaking of TNA products I believe that it is Toy Biz that will be picking up the deal for the wrestling figure line.
Guest Dandeman2004
I heard Take 2's Name somewhere. That would be a real possibility... But that was the 'Major Deal' that fell threw I heard not EA Sports
Guest Dandeman2004
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, TNA is licensing ToyBiz do their action figures. ToyBiz is owned by Marvel Comics. ToyBiz also did the WCW figures, who they did a very good job with. TNA is also trying to get a video game deal signed. At one point in time they were going to do work with Take 2 Entertainment, however there were some complications and it did not work out. There it is........ What games have Take 2 done??? Guest .sixtythree.
they did mafia... a few of the first gta games...
Guest Dandeman2004
Cool, That probably would have been good. I dont care who makes it as long as it isnt clunky like Legends Of Wrestling. The Gameplay is v.poor also...... I would like a TNA game because..... On Smackdown I hate doing storymode with Matt Hardy or Charlie Haas because they wont win world title in a few years.............. TNA has many different top superstars.... They have Chris Daniels, AJ, JJ, Ron Killings, Chris Harris, Sting sometimes and others like Sabu and Raven who could have a push because they are famous in the indys
