Right, this has been bugging me for a good while now...

It used to be that people were put out with piledrivers, powerbombs, dropkicks, two on one attacks, a belt shot...anyway, you get my point.

What is the point in driving a truck into an ambulance or knocking someone down...for starters it's illegal, or are we supposed to just forget that? I mean what next, what trapese act are we going to watch next...someone being thrown out a helicopter perhaps, a plane being flown into the side of the hotel where the wrestlers are staying or maybe four wrestlers will be out kayacking and end up going over a bloody waterfall.

The only problem now is that most moves have been ruined, too many kick out of DDT's and piledrivers or even powerbombs...and why do they kick out, BECAUSE NOBODY CAN WORK A MATCH ANYMORE!!!!!

:)

Finishers?

Yeah, like whats happened to them?

No match seems to end with a submission in the WWF anymore, it'sjust outright power. And if it's not that, it's interference or blatant cheating. Just once, I'd like to watch smackdown and see wrestling, not eastenders.

And shi**y finishers are the worst. The rock bottom? the peoples elbow? the worm? the spinaroonie? wtf wtf WTF

There not finishers, there just bad jokes that only 12 year olds see as being a legit power move to finish a match. The llast actual finish that I say that actual looked like you ain't getting up from it was from The Great Scot on Marco Di Fiore at the SCW show. That looked really nasty.

People should be stopped by genuine moves that genuinely stop you dead in your tracks, or make you tap out before you ankle/knee/elbow snaps into bits.

But, as this isn't as good a spectacle as 2 over muscled freaks bitch slapping each other (or laying the smackdown) I doubt we will see any technical wrestling matches or legitamate finshes in the WWF anytime soon. When was the last time you saw an episode of WWF programming when every match obeyed the rules? or for that matter the rules were consistently enforced. I thought so. No one has a bloody clue do they?

Hands up if you want to see wrestling and not a soap opera? I DO.

2 weeks

kenny has a valid point tho, wrestling yes is supposed to be an escape from reality, however many pieces in the puzzle dont fit.

like rock nearly kills someone from a people's elbow, yet can recover from being hammered and drove into?

i mean we've seen hawk fall from the titan tron and be back soon, yet kurt angle choked out from tazz.

I mean at no way out, jeff hardy took a 3d on the floor, few years back that wud have been like stretcher job, but now he's back following night, winning a match, yet rock gettin tombstoned on a car, puts him out for a fortnight?

yes its escapism, but sum logic pls.

I it me or do wrestlers tap out too quickly now? Last week Taz slapped on the tazmission on Test and he tapped out before he even got his arms around him. I'd like to see someone attempt to get to the ropes, then tap out. If you're being chocked it takes about 30 seconds at least for you to run out of oxygen.

Im also getting annoyed with these car crashes etc bring back the days when you injure a guy by doing a wrestling move on him. The only example of this ive seen in the past year was scotty's ankle being broken by kurt angle. Injuries should probably be used more to rotate the huge roster.

Someone criticised the Rock Bottom a few posts ago as a finisher but there are worse finishers than that. Maybe because its The Rocks finisher - you know the guy its cool to hate on the Internet - that it has been slagged off. I agree that the people's elbow is very stupid but the Rock Bottom is a far better finisher than something like the Breakdown.

Take away too much of the reality and it just gets ridiculous.

Besides which surely for example Test would be shown as more impressive hitting his big boot and keeping a guy out for a few weeks with a concussion (a display of what he can do in the ring), than by driving a car into someone.

I have the talent to run someone over if I want, hell I could be the guy to put Steve Austin out of the WWF if Vince so decided, but there's no way I could convincingly cripple him in the ring.

It needs storylines and promos to keep it interesting, but the promotion should always revolved around what goes on in the ring in my opinion

Don't you think people take wrestling too seriously these days? Would you be having this debate about how unrealistic Eastenders is, with all those things happening to a small group of people that live round one square in London?

It's bubbblegum for the brain, people. If you don't like it, stop whinging about it and stop watching it. I agree that the aftermath of the Rock's "accident" was a bit over the top (Lawler using the voice reserved Owen's death, for example) it still coems back to the fact that the WWF, like it or not, is a soap opera with wrestling in it, not the other way round.

Get used to it, or stop watching.

As wrestling fans, people are allowed to complain you know, we've gone over this before i think.

If you see something you think is ridiculous, you can complain cause you like wrestling and dont want to end up having to stop watching cause its got too ridiculous.

Of course the Rock thing was over the top, they have one of these things every now and then which they take too far. Lets have a nice mix of both things eh.

yeah right, i'm fed up having this converation every time i slate the wwf. nobody complains when i slate xpw. and as it happens if i was an eastenders fan, then yes i probably would sit down complaining about how unrealistic it was but i'm not. i'm a wrestling fan, not just a wwf fan, but a wrestling fan. if i see something i don't like i'll complain. when i prasie wwf nothing's mentioned, when i slate them i get jumped upon. i have opinions and i'll state them all i like
