K.J
Got my copy of FIFA 2005 on Friday, it's an improvment on last seasons effort, which I returned straight to the shop, with a return of the "Create a Tournament Mode" which was for some stupid reason lacking in last years game. As for the gameplay itself, a lot of emphasis has been taken off the "Off The Ball" feature, although it is still in there" The "First Touch" is a good addition, you use the right analogue stick to control the first touch. Having tried Pro Evo 3 last year and not being overly impressed, it feels good to be back with FIFA, it's like an old friend thats been missing for a year. Guest Jayden
yeah I suppose a lot of it is just personal preference but for me Fifa has always looked and felt more like real football than Pro Evo which has for me felt more like an arcade recreation of the game of football. Personally I've always preferred Fifa in any incarnation but each to their own. Jayden. Loving Fifa 2005.
Guest Carlito C. Cool
Always been fifa for me but 2004 was terrible lets hope 2005 is a better effort

Guest Jayden
Fifa is crap Pro Evo is great debate ends. why do you have such a habit of making comments like that? I've read a few threads where you've said something ridiculous, not backed it up in any way whatsoever and just ended your comment with "no debate/end of debate" or something similar. what's the point in that? You obviously have an opinion on Pro Evo being better. Why not explain to us why you think that instead of making a useless comment. Personally I disagree with you but you've not even told me why you have a different opinion to me. You've also then proceeded to insist that anyone else is wrong for disagreeing with you and again not backed it up. If you have to make an arrogant post like that, back it up. Jayden. Stepping up. The Icon
I didn't feel like making a big post but since you ask here goes: I thought fifa2004 was an ok game but what really annoyed me of about it was the terrible navigation system and the blatant profiteering of EA Sports in severley limiting the ability to create your own competitions so that they could then sell you the same game in Euro Championship format (I didn't buy it, & never will). They also had it so the champions league games were played home and away against each team in a row. How hard would it have been to get the sheduling right. Of course if you've got ambitions to make a Champions League version of the game you want to make the version in FIFA 2004 as crap as possible. Then there's more. The players look like robots. The Controls are awkard. (players often pass instead of shooting arghhhh or vice versa) Don't forget though this is last years version I am talking about I have not played the new one. Guest Kakarot
I like both games but prefer Pro Evo. Itjust seemed more smooth in the gameplay than fifa and as such much more realistic. Although Fifa is much beter prsented and has all the fancy movesand player models. If I had 40 quid and had to chose one, it would have to be Pro Evo. Chris2K
I've always preferred the FIFA series, and I'll probably get 2005 for the GC soon.
Red05
Pro Evoloution for me, i just am crazy about the master league mode. Create your own team basically, it's great IMO. I also think that the graphics are better. I know FIFA is regarded as better with the graphics but i see them as slightly scrawny compared to the smooth Pro Evoloution Soccer. I'm definately getting Pro Evo 4 an will mayb get FIFA 2005 on X-Rental. By the way i haven't played FIFA 2005 yet so my opinions are basically just based on Evo3 and FIFA 2000-2004! I would also like to know that if your more of FIFA buff, what do you think of Evos league? I think it's ace! PRO EVOLOUTION SOCCER all the way! And that's the bottom line because Mysterio said so! Fletch
I also got my FIFA on Friday and I must say immedietly I wasnt impressed, it did seem just a slightly updated rehash of last years effort. but the more I play the more it becomes an entireley new game. I love the first touch control, very simple and effective. I never used that off the ball crap last year anyway, too much hassle. Very smooth, very nice. I like it. And hopefully tomorrow or Tuesday I can get my hands on an early copy of Pro Evo 4 which i shall inform everyone about as to how it plays etc in comparision to FIFA and Pro Evo 3. As my personal preference one or the other despite always having the latest FIFA and Pro Evo, Pro Evolution Soccer from previous efforts by a country mile. Its unparralled in terms of footballing heaven
Guest Inno
I dig the 'swishness' (it's the new bouncebackability) of FIFA, but the gameplay of the ISS games wins me over in the end.
K.J
yeah I suppose a lot of it is just personal preference but for me Fifa has always looked and felt more like real football than Pro Evo which has for me felt more like an arcade recreation of the game of football. Personally I've always preferred Fifa in any incarnation but each to their own. Jayden. Loving Fifa 2005. Yeah, i'd agree with that. When I was playing Pro Evo 3 last year it always reminded me of playing that Italia 90 World Cup arcade machine many years ago. It's too fast to be considered realistic and the simple controls mean it has no lastability. It's still enjoyable to play especially in two player mode. The team names annoyed me aswell, I know the names have no affect on the gameplay but I was told to go get the update disk which I did, which updated the teams to about 6 months previous, but then try and play the Super League or whatever it's called and it's back to Trad Bricks vs Lloyd, very annoying. Guest Jayden
indeed Inno, it's all about the bouncebackability. Fifa showed loads of it in comin back from the disappointment of Fifa 2004. B-b-b-b-Bounce, b-b-b-b-bounceback, b-b-b-b-bounce, b-b-bouncebackability. It's the future.
