anyone think they should bring in harley race and make him team up with orton and form a new stable and maybe have a tag match at survivor series with orton and harley vs triple h and ric

no that's a horrible idea. Race can't work a match. Race struggles to talk fluently anymore. Why on earth would they do that?

 

If Race could still work a match, and if he could still work a mic I'd like it.

 

The other thing though is that this isn't WCW. Race isn't that over in the WWE. Certainly not as over as Flair is. Most WWE fans wouldn't know the history between Flair and Race.

 

It's a bad idea that woul djust give us a horrible match on PPV.

That would be a horrible match. It wouldn't do anything for anyone involved, except maybe humiliate Race.

No, Race shouldnt be brought back. He is an all time great, he is remembered as an all time great. Why bring him back now, an old man who can barely walk due to surgeries, just to humilliate him in the ring?

Plus, on top of not benefitting Harley, it wouldnt benefit WWE either, I bet 99.999% of todays fans dont even know who he is, sadly.

It was awesome to see Harley at the Hall of Fame, and things like that its always good, but to use him as talent on air today would be both detrumental to WWE and Harley himself.

Newp. I've seen a couple of threads here urging Ric Flair to retire so why on earth would we want Harley Race to come out of retirement?? The man can barely walk properly let alone work a match.

Bring him back as the manager and crafty strategist who will help Orton get to the top and stay there. Do NOT put him in a wrestling match.

 

Why not bring back his dad to help him? I'm not a cowboy Bob fan but it would make sense to me.

you can't bring Race back as a manager, he can't talk. Have you heard him cut a promo any time recently? He stuggles with it. Besides, the last thing Orton needs is someone talking for him.

 

As for bringing his Dad back, I just don't see that Orton needs a manager. Besides, face managers are hard to get right. Most of the current WWE fans wouldn't remember who his old man was anyway and they've never tried to make him a star on the back of that because they knew it. I mean when they were telling us the Rock was a third generation superstar how many of the Rock's fans really knew who Peter Maivia or Rocky Johnson were?

 

To give Orton a manager right now would in my opinion take away from his character, not add to it.

WWE fans couldn't remember or care less about legends like Orton sr or Race. Did you here the reaction Jimmy Snuka got when he came out a while back? Me neither. Ortons doing fine on his own. Anyway, he's already got Flair there if he needs manager. I can't see Evolution carrying on unless they find another member. Hurry up and put Edge in there already I say.

Fair enough. Hadn't considered that. Good point.

Again I concede that you may be right. I don't think that Orton NEEDS someone, just that it would be cool for some of us who remember those guys. I feel that it adds to the product to have the stars of old show their faces every once in a while. It's like going back to your roots and paying your respects. It was great when HBK brought in his mentor Jose Luthario (hope I spelled that right). I loved it. This sport was built by the skills, sweat, and talent of many who are forgotten. No one should forget wherre they come from.

yeah I agree, I love those sort of things too but unfortunately the sad truth is that the WWE and its casual fans really don't have a clue who half these guys are.

 

I've always thought that somewhere like TNA is perfect for bringing in these sort of legends but WWE is just not the right place for them in my opinion.
