Guest Trash
What about Bret Hart? I dont really have an opinion on the question of the better looking sharpshooter though. And to be honest it wouldn't be worth much anyway, its only how the move looks. But anyway I like The Rock when he did it because he leans back further and looks more intense. Beniot makes his look very painful too.

Guest Fallen
Sting has been using the move for longer. Bret didn't start using it until he broke free from the tag team ranks in...erm....'91 was it?
Guest SideEffect
yeah so dosent that make sting the first in the u.s. as a main streamer
Guest Bluestiger99
I've always been a HUGE Sting mark, so I'm going with him. I really can't remember there being a huge difference in the look of the actual move. However, Sting has been using it for longer. Like I said, I've always been a big Sting mark too, so he gets my vote.
Paul
The difference between the Scorpion Death Lock and the Sharpshooter is simple: they are done on different legs! Really, same move but different leg! I remember reading somewhere that Bret developed the Sharpshooter with his fathers help. Perhaps that was back in his Stampede days if he didnt use it in his tag team days. And just for the record, The Rock does the worst Sharpshooter EVER! He doesnt even get the legs crossed properly! He crosses his opponants ankles!
Guest The Beltster
I remember reading somewhere that Bret developed the Sharpshooter with his fathers help. Perhaps that was back in his Stampede days if he didnt use it in his tag team days. That comment was a work, Bret used to say that in interviews but he was working. Owen was using the sharpshooter (leg grapevine) in the UK and Japan long before Bret was and Owen suggested Bret use it, so he did. Bret never 'developed' it etc, as the hold had been around for years and years, even Ronnie Garvin was using it in the WWF in 1989, 2 years before Bret debuted it there. Paul
Cool, I have learnt something new. Thanks Beltmark. Oh, Mr Knoxvile, have you ever actually seen the Rock put on the sharpshooter? Really? Go watch again as he doesnt actually put it on at all! Edited October 26, 2004 by Paul

Dead Crow
Bret's version always looked better to me, because he sat down on the guy and leant back. Sting always seemed to give a bit of leverage. Rocky gives way too much, and his version looks absolutely dreadful.

Anyway, Bret was the "excellence of execution". I think he made everything look as good as it could possibly look. He had hair to fling and generally sold everything the way it should be. Anyway, neither of them invented the move so why bicker about it!
