According to a lot of sources, Panda Energy has pulled the plug on tna and has given the company 90 days to find a new backer. While many doubt this is true it could be that TNA will be dead in 3 months time. However fear not, because also rumour has it now that TNA are talking to Turner broadcasting and Ted Turner himself. If that does go through though Turner broadcasting cannot screen anything until early to mid 2005 so they would have to show it elsewhere until then.

in a way i think that turner being involved is a good theing fter all he as real money to put behind TNA and i believe the guy actually has a passion for the business

There had been talk of Turner starting another Federation anyway, so why not get a pre-made one? I know he had sent out feelers to Austin, Goldberg, and I think Sting about wrestling for him. This could be just what TNA needs. If they have the proper financial support, I think they could reallly take off.

Its not neccesarily just the financial backing they need, TNA needs to turn out quality programming consistently to attract new fans away from the WWE. Ok the WWE dont do that anyway, but people need to see that to change their minds as to what they watch. From what i understand, TNA were losing money as they went, which means to be successfull they need to make money rather than just have a wealthy backer?

Nic Sin isnt in TNA anymore, he was called Sinn in TNA many moons ago and since has been on Memphis Wrestling as Nick Doom.

 

Oh and basically this will probably crush everybodies hopes and fears

Despite several online reports, TNA owner Bob Carter has not even been considering pulling the plug on the company. Carter and Panda Energy have been financially backing the company for more than a year now. When Carter asks management about when the company will become profitable, it shouldn’t be taken as him wanting to pull the plug.

 

- Unless anything has changed, right now Scott Hall and Kevin Nash only have five dates left on their current contracts. They each signed eight-show deals, according to what they’ve been saying backstage. Many are questioning why TNA would they would make Hall & Nash such a major part of storylines, when they might not be around after the next 5 shows.

Regarding the BIG rumor that the company has 90 days to ship up or else they are done with Panda Energy: There has been a lot of talk about this one for awhile dating back to the Victory Road PPV weekend, but I have yet to hear from one source that definitively makes me believe that this is the case. There is no sense of chaos falling apart at the tapings or impending feeling of doom among the staffers like there was at the end of ECW and WCW. It's business as usual, although everyone is obviously concerned that they need to turn things around. If the rumor is correct (and it may be, who knows), they are keeping it ultra-quiet to prevent the creation of a self-fulfulling prophecy. One of the things that hurt ECW towards the end was the constant stream of information that the performers weren't getting paid and checks were bouncing. While those affected had every right to do so, at the same time, it didn't create the appearance of a solvent company at the time they were trying to find a new Network deal. Just for the sake of having someplace for the performers to work and keep WWE on their toes, one has to hope that there's no truth to this one, and if there is, there's another backer waiting to grab it. For all the things wrong TNA has done since its birth, the business would be greatly hurt if it was down.
