Samoa Joe was great champion, I just hope Aries can be as good.
No doubt Aries is a great worker, but i 'm just not sure if he was theright guy to take the belt off Joe, but he does already have pinfalls over American Dragon and CM Punk, so he was strong going into the match.

Aries is a really good wrestler as was shown in his 2 out of 3 falls match with AmDrag, but i think that the title really would have been better put on Homicide or CM Punk.

Hopefully Aries can do the title justice for a little while and then the belt can be put on Punk hopefully leading to Punk vs Joe 4.

Without sounding too overdramatic, what do people see in Homicide? He's horrible. He makes The Undertaker look like The Rock after a Stone Cold Stunner when it comes to selling, and his wrestling is boring.

As for Austin Aries, I'm glad Joe doesn't have the belt cas I'm not a fan, but then I hate RoH so it's obsolete. I expect Punk will eventually get the belt though.

Homicide is an excellent worker and easily one of the top guys in Ring of Honor and therefore the World. I don't know what Homicide matches you have seen, but he makes the Undertaker look like the big bag of crap that the Undertaker is.

What you should do is watch the following Homicide matches (if you haven't already):

"American Dragon" Bryan Danielson v Homicide (Reborn Stage 2)

AJ Styles v Homicide (The Battle Lines Are Drawn)

Samoa Joe v Homicide (Generation Next, Reborn Stage 1)

CM Punk v Homicide (The Last Stand)

Colt Cabana v Dan Maff v BJ Whitmer v Homicide (Death Before Dishonor)

I saw one against Dan Maff, one against Low-ki and one against I think AJ, and all three left me with the same conclusion. He doesn't entertain me whatsoever. I'd rather take a Raven brawl or a Teddy Hart spotmatch personally. I just don't see the big deal in him.

I used to really like Homicide until i watched a lot more of his matches. Sometimes he seems really lazy, sometimes he is amazing. But the thing that really bothers me about him is, he doesn't seem to really protect his opponents from some of his offense. I have seen him knock at least one person out with his Cop Killah!
I saw his match in CZW in full with Dan Maff, and he didn't sell a damn thing. It was like watching New Jack without a staple gun.

Hmmm, not sure how being one of the top guys in a smalltime promotion that plays to a niche market and despite being successful at the level its at is realistic enough to realise it will never hit the bigtime, makes him one of the top guys in the world?

That would only be applicable if ROH was the best fed in the world, which will always be WWE, regardless of people's opinion of the company.

Any wrestler who says that they don't harbour ambitions to be in WWE is lying.

And before any of you say AJ, it was the money that stopped him, not ambition. Had he been single he would have been there like a shot IMO.

I disagree, not about AJ, but about why he didn't sign up.

People say he got offered a spot for WWE. The reality is he got offered a development deal. It's not the same thing. He's not an idiot. Why would he wanna go work in OVW for ages, and then if he was lucky get called up to be a jobber for a bit?

If they made him the right deal, not working in OVW, going straight onto the roster with a push and decent money of course he'd go.

Why quit indie and TNA work to go work in OVW?

If Homicide is the best int he business then Ima dutch man and what in the hell does that make Wildcat Chris Harris? Best in the universe?

Homicide and RoH in general is awful, one of the bigger promotions i avoid like the plague. Its never been entertaining at all. The Backseat Boys are ok in crap like CZW but anywhere else they are rubbish. RoH seems to try and put all their eggs in the CM Punka nd Samoa Joe baskets but put either of them in any half decent company and they wouldnt do anything. Punk is too small and isnt that talented anyway, the only real thing he has going for him is that his girlfriend is gorgeous and Samoa Joe is just plain over rated.

Im not saying TNA and WWE are the be all and end all of wrestling but theyre qa hell of a lot better at their worse than RoH is at its best in my eyes at least. Give me SharkBoy and D-Ray 3000 vs David Young and Glen Gilberti anyday over Samoa Joe vs CM Punk

LOL, wouldn't rate Harris even in the top 20 of the world. Give him 5 years, and it's a possibility :P
Harris is a decent main event level TNA talent. That does not make him the best in the world, nor in the best 10 in the world. Depends what we're basing it on as to where I'd place him, wrestling ability, or the whole package, but either way he's probably around about the level of someone like Val Venis. Now, has anyone ever tried to suggest that Val Venis is one of the top 5, 10, or even 20 workers on the planet? No, of course they haven't. Val's talented, good look, good in the ring, good on the mic. Decent all round package. That's how I see Harris, but if I was going to suggest that Homicide being called one of the best on the planet was ridiculous I'd have come up with a better example to rubbish him with than Chris Harris.

I think hes brilliant and hes certainly better than 99% of the RoH and TNA rosters infact.

Of course Glen Gilberti >RoH

I think he's brilliant too. He's one of my fave wrestlers right now and as I've said many times he's just as important to the future of TNA as AJ Styles is.

That doesn't mean he's top 5 on the planet though. There's a difference between a guy that is top 5 in terms of your faves, and top 5 in terms of quality.

For instance my favourite 5 wrestlers at the moment would be Edge, Chris Harris, Ron Killings, Jun Akiyama, and hmmm, not sure actually. Well, they are my favourite four wrestlers on the planet.

I wouldn't try and pretend they are the best four on the planet though. There's a big difference between personal preference and what entertains you, and actual talent and ability.

I always liked Ohtani when I used to watch Ring Warriors on Eurosport years ago. It was great that you got NJPW on a european sports channel. That was my first intro to Japanese wrestling.
The best thing about it too DC was that it had English commentary. It's one of the things that I think puts a lot of people off watching puro. There's no commentary (that they can understand) and it can be a bit daunting. However on Eurosport having Sir Oliver giving it the biggun with Solie it worked really well. They had other guys too, I'm sure I have a tape somewhere that has Ray Rougeau commentating on it too, could be wrong though.

Exactly. There's a BIG difference. I hate Chris Benoit from an entertainment POV, but to say he's not one of the best technical wrestlers anywhere in the world would be blind ignorance. I also like Raven moreso than mostly any other wrestler on the face of the earth, but I'd never say he's near the best workers in the world, or even America.

Same with Homicide. As a wrestler, he may be damned impressive, and one of the best. But he bores the crap out of me, and I refuse to waste my precious time on him anymore.

Solie and Humperdink were great commentators for that show, and it opened my eyes to aa whole new style.

While WWF had guys like Adam Bomb and Duke Droese, (whom I really liked), New Japan had Chono, Norton when he was good, Liger, El Samurai, my faves Ohtani and Hashimoto, Tenzan, Hawk and many others. It really opened my eyes.

I also saw Vader over there, and he was a scary mutha in Japan.

I also like Raven

Yeah, I agree with you there DraVen, Raven in his fueding with Tommy Dreamer/Sandman prime was fantastic in the ring and on the mic.
