Obviously there are a lot of differences between WWE ( Vince ) and Bret, but i have been reading on several sites and mags that Bret could return and has been back stage on raw....

Just wondering if anyone had any upto date information on this....

i dont think bret has ever been backstage at raw, but bret has met vince and shane a number of times to discuss a dvd release in the future and a return to promote the dvd. I belive the sticking point is bret wants a public apology from vince , which vinces huge ego isnt willing to give

If you want proof that the relationship between Bret and Vince has improved lately, just open your eyes. Bret made an appearance in Smackdown! Vs Raw and Day Of Reckoning, two official WWE video games. There would be no chance in hell that Bret would want have wanted to be associated with WWE if he was still just as bitter as he was before, so obviously some sort of agreement took place between the two parties, due to the fact that an agreement was reached. There's also been talk for a while now that WWE will bring out a Bret Hart DVD, again, something that never would have happened 5 years ago, and not just because the DVD medium wasn't as popular as it is today.

But what good would it do for Bret to come back? He can't wrestle, he'd cost a fortune to hire and there's not much that could be done with him, storyline wise. I know that Bret has been writing a massive book that he plans to release in several volumes about his career, and it might possibly benefit him to get on WWE's worldwide platform to plug it. However, I can't see Bret returning to WWE in any capacity in the long run, simply because there's just so few options about what you can do with him.

Totally agree with Russ. Its clear that some bridges have been built between the two but a comeback would be pointless. Even if he could wrestle I dont think that enough people would give a sh#t about him or his past. Some of the fans would be too young to remember him in his prime so wouldnt care, he would be 'just some old Canadian guy'.

Never really liked Bret on the mike anyway, he specialised in moaning, that was about it. Not a big fan.

I think he should come back for one show in Canada. You know and I know that the arena would explode into a million pieces. Just one appearance, get the cheap pop, plug either book or DVD, and maybe belt Vince across the face for good measure. I personally can't see the harm for one week.
Then have HBK Sweet Chin Music him to end the show :lol :P
Or have all of the Canadians of the WWE come down to ringside and stomp HBK ass into the dirt. Then Bret with a huge grin on his face slaps on the Sharpshooter on HBK while everyone sits back and watches him tap faster than Ben Vereen on speed.LOL! :D That would be a masterpiece.

LMAO!, I agree with this, have Hart cut a moving speach, and then turn around and get kicked into oblivion by HBK to go off the air.

Bret Hart sucks, I hope he never comes back.

I think Bret will be back, and in time I think he could possibly wrestle a couple of tightly booked matches. He was recently involved in a theater production in Canada where he came out and WRESTLED with some monsters or something. So it's possible. As for Caveman saying that nobody would give a **** or even know him, possibly the silliest thing i've ever heard. He was treated like crap by Vince and HBK and I don't blame him for staying the hell away for this long, but he has done some deals since so he shouldn't be too far away.

I'd love to see Bret again. I was a huge mark of his, and he's my mom's all-time favourite wrestler alongside the original Undertaker. He was always a revolation in the ring and an undeniably underrated heel. To say he didn't want to turn, he did as damn a good a job as anyone. As a face, he wasn't Mr Charisma but he didn't need to be. He was the company man and Vince can blame Bret all he wants for getting screwed - you give a guy a creative control clause over the last thirty days of his contract and it's your own damn fault.

So yes I wanna see him back. Not full time, not even part time. Just once to equal any pop you'll ever hear in Canada, and let him go with his head held high. As probable as the idea for Shawn to superkick him is, he would probably be stabbed before the night is over (not that I'd complain - he's a fantastic worker but his politics was a bunch of crap and what he did to Bret with all the comments and lies - Shawn can go to hell if he thinks Bret should have lied down for him).

Sorry, Montreal makes me angry, and makes me want to stab Shawn repeatedly in the stomach, then the chest, and then the head, over and over.

Remind me not to piss you off DraVen. :lol
well, as you can probably guess by my avatar, I'm a huge Bret fan, and, even though I no longer have the means to watch WWE myself, I often get things taped for me, if Bret were ever to come back I'd definatley get it taped. I also agree with what Russ said, in fact half the reason i bought the game was to use Bret (I marked out totally when his music hit, as I was expecting him to be like the legends on HCTP, I had to create him myself on that.)

Well, his pop would be the second loudest and longest in Canadian history, I'll give him that! :)

I would love to see Bret return, especially to Canada, getting the BIGGEST pop in canadian history will be more than appropriate. Hart may not have been the most exciting or charismatic but he was for me the wrestler of the nineties for me. He carried the WWE during a differcult time when some chose to leave for bigger pay checks and better steroids etc (HOGAN).

Bret was the wrestler that I most looked up to as a kid and having watched his match against Owen, Summerslam 1994 as recently as sunday I can say that the match has stood the test of time that many of that era and the years before do not (Hulkmania era 1984 - 1993, zzzzzzzzzzzzz) . His gimmick wasn't a superstar or some baldy who preached to kids (HOGAN) or a maniac who shook ring ropes, his gimmick was simply that he was the best.

I can't wait for the books and DVD to be released. The books should be good as Hart was always a thoroughly articulate man. the DVD if produced to the usual standard will be one hell of a collection of matches.

Bret Hart truly is one of the greats.

I'M BACK!!!!! ;)

Having Bret back would be just good for the mark out value.

But like having Hogan back and The Rocks here and there apperances it would wear thin.

It will actully be intresting to hear what Bret has to say in his book about Hogan.

Hogan's pop's only wear thin because he returns every 2 years. he is a bit like Cliff Richard, we all know he is a legend but his time has past and his new stuff is nowhere near the quality of his earlier stuff. And like Cliff Richard we really want him to retire.

You might, but I, along with thousands and thousands others dont. Speak for yourself. And if your going to compare him to Cliff Richard, lets not forget that everytime Cliff releases a Christmas single, it goes straight to number one, much like how everytime Hogan returns, his pops are bigger than anybody elses.

Having Bret come back for a one off would be cool, to see him and hear what he has to say, but in reality, having him around any longer, when he cant work a match and will only end up crying and pissing and moaning about Montreal anyways, whats the point? We can all do without that.

Cliff released a song this past Christmas, it was'nt number 1!

I have to admit to be somewhat surprised that the pop that Hogan gets with the desire video at the WWE shows i've been too. Why? i don't know they tend to be bloke in there mid 20's who have'nt had much luck in there love life and really look back fondly on there childhood when there hero was HULK HOGAN. So when they see him the totally mark out thinking back on there sad childhoods staying in watching WWF because the big kid outside bullied you for only having 6 gears on your back.
