Guest Fully
It may be obvious to a 13 year old but for people who've been a fan longer than you have been alive (like me) might see things differently. When WCW was hot, it was so far ahead of the WWF it was unreal. They have been the better product a number of periods from the days of Flair to the NWO angle. ECW was also an amazing promotion and having been lucky enough to go to america and attend an ECW show it was amazing. There was a real Cult feeling about ECW and the mentality of the Crowd was different, mainly due to the lack of Kids. Wrestling was appreciated in ECW for the right reason. It was a smart promotion for 'smart' fans. CZW, whose tapes I get a lot, is good and working its way to that ECW status. WWE/WWF and WCW are/were more mainstream so theres bound to be more fans, particualry kids like yourself. When you see ECW in ring action from around 1998 and compare it to what WWF were doing at the time its uncanny. After all that though, because WWF introduced me to wrestling and I have been to a few shows and it has been very consistent and has great nostalgia for me i might vote for that

Guest WWE
*sigh* I just typed a long message then I hit something on my keyboard.. :( anyway I said I've seen loads of ECW by internet, blah blah blah.. can't be bothered to type it again... lol and I seen a hour show of ECW every week on Bravo I think.. but that was only for a few weeks as it went again... but WWE has always been my fave. It goes like this for the top 3 Wrestling Companys (IMO) ever: WWE WCW ECW
Guest MartynJ
again like i said in the raw v nitro post ive liked both as my favs at different times for different reasons, as for EcW it entertained me and i liked it, but the Question was which is the best company ever, and so far my opinon is WWE

Dead Crow
Sucessfully, the WWE. In terms of product, ECW kicks seven shades of s**t out of everyone :)

Guest MARTIN316V1
What's with all the polls? :? Anyhow, WWE wins this easily, always been my favourite and always will. WCW was good. ECW was crap.

Paul
lol, NO! :evil I mean, what made it so bad to you? The wrestling? The skits? The production? What?
Guest Gooneronastick
I'm voting other if we're talking of all time, I'm going with Jim Crockett's NWA. It's what I used to watch when I first became a fan. The storylines were great, the wrestling was cool and the promos were excellent. Pretty much everyone could give a decent promo. One of my favourite matches from back then was Magnum T.A. vs Wahoo McDaniel in the chicken-wire cage (at the time the cages in WWF were blue steel). But I digress......so my answer is NWA circa 1981-1985
Guest MARTIN316V1
I mean' date=' what made it so bad to you? The wrestling? The skits? The production? What?[/quote'] Mostly the production, i find it hard to watch any wrestling promotion where the production stinks (which is why i never watch TWC). WWE has great production and so did WCW, heck even TNA does. On the ECW DVD's i have (no i didnt buy them, my mum doesnt know the difference! :P), it also seems like the matches were just any old matches thrown together without any storyline to it, although i dont really know because they are probably PPVs but they didnt have a video package to show the fued, so why should i care? All i see are 2 random guys having a match, so what? Not to mention the only ECW guys i know, are all the old WWE ones, but even that cant help me sit down and watch it, and the fast foward button always comes in handy while im watching DVDs like Eddies, Foleys etc. Ah, all this ranting cant change my mind - ECW sucks! Dead Crow
Well ECW was basically everything the WWE was before the WWE was it. Austin's character, stolen from Sandman. Jeff Hardy, did everything Sabu had done for years before and made it look crap. The crucifixtion angle in Martin's avatar, stolen from Raven. Al Snow and Head, made in ECW. The "knocking down of the backstage walls", stolen from ECW. WWE just toned down the violence and increased the sex.
Guest The Beltster
Its almost a travesty when a poll like this is created without any mention to JCP, AWA, WWF (yes, WWF, the company was completely different under that name), NJPW, AJPW, FMW etc...I know there is an 'other' option, but all those companies, barring maybe FMW, deserve a name mention, especially JCP. WWF, for me. And no, I dont mean todays WWE. If I were to rank that, it would be below the UK indy scene!
Guest Anime Otaku
i was thinking the same thing. G-1, NOAH, AJPW, GAEA and more are missing
Guest MARTIN316V1
WWF (yes' date=' WWF, the company was completely different under that name)[/quote'] How are they different? The WWE title history goes back to when it was called WWF, so obviously you would think they are the same. Just because they had a name change doesnt mean their different, that would be like saying the Dudley Boyz are different from the Dudleys! Also just say someone offered you a Hogan DVD with some of his greatest WWE matches of all time. Are you saying the match listing you'd expect to see would start from Judgment Day 2002 and not include WM6, WM18 etc..?
Guest Anime Otaku
i think he means that since the name change things have changed dramatically where as the WWF was actually good had alot more main event veriety for a start and a tag/ic division worth caring about

Guest MARTIN316V1
WWE has way more wrestling now that it did in 1998-1999 when it was WWF, so i cant see how thats the case.
Paul
WWF meant that WRESTLING was the main part of the story whereas now its entertainment more than ability in the ring that counts. Badly phrased given that the big names in the 'abillty counts' WWF were Hogan and Warrior! :P They were entertainers not wrestlers.
Guest Gooneronastick
WWE has way more wrestling now that it did in 1998-1999 when it was WWF' date=' so i cant see how thats the case.[/quote'] Quantity doesn't always improve quality. Look at all the talentless oafs WWE has now and compare them with the guys they had when they were WWF. I'd rather see 4 top quality matches with quality performers like Mr. Perfect and the Barbarian (examples) than 10 matches that have goons like Tomko and Heidenriech included in them. Badly phrased given that the big names in the 'abillty counts' WWF were Hogan and Warrior! They were entertainers not wrestlers. Not technical geniuses I'll grant you, but theirs were some of the more memorable matches from that era. Guest MARTIN316V1
But still, your blaming that on the name change? :? Benoit, Eddie, Angle, Jericho, Lesnar, Lance Storm, Chavo, Noble, Ultimo Dragon etc are/were all in WWE. Those are probably some of the best wrestlers in world! Although most of those guys never made it to the top (and rightfully so) because they dont have the whole package. All of those wrestlers are more talented than Hogan and Ultimate Warrior, but the fans want to see the great characters and big names rather than the great wrestlers, always been like that and always will.
