Blink 182 have split?

Blink-182 have announced that they are embarking on an “indefinite hiatus”, leading to speculation that they have split. In an announcement on their official web site, the band say:

 

 

"For over a decade, Blink-182 has toured, recorded and done non-stop promotion all while trying to balance relationships with family and friends.

 

 

“To that end, the band has decided to go on an indefinite hiatus to spend some time enjoying the fruits of their labors with their loved ones. While there is no set plan for the band to begin working together again, no one knows what tomorrow may bring."

I mean er, oh dear. Really!

 

I wouldn't read anything into it, probably they'll get back to doing stuff in a couple of years, like when Slipknot were meant to have split after the second album and Megadeth was supposed to be finished in 2002. Iron Maiden gave a similar announcement to this after their last album and it took Bruce to tell us all in Newcastle that there was no split happening. Is sounds like it's just a break and I'd be surprised if that was the end of them. Must have been a slow week for Kerrang I suppose!

My guess would be that they're kind of split but aren't ruling out a return at a later date. Covers them both ways really.

Found out just minutes after I found out about Korn giving Head to God. I wish them well, but am glad that another pop group are gone.

Lol sorry just made me laugh. And they aren't really gone are they? They havent announced they've split, and even if they do, they have side projects that sound just the same.

They haven't split. It was on teletext on channal 4, page 351 I think. They said they have no idea how the story came to be on there website. They did however say that they are taking a break. Which isn't uncommon for a band. expect a new album in 2006

They said themselves that they didn't know how this news got to be on there website. And I assume, after it was discovered, they removed it.
