Suicide woman banned from rivers

A woman who has attempted suicide four times has been banned from jumping into rivers, canals or onto railway lines.

 

Bath magistrates granted an anti-social behaviour order (Asbo) against Kim Sutton from Odd Down.

 

The 23-year-old was rescued three times from the River Avon in Bath last year after trying to take her life.

 

She was also found hanging from a railway parapet and police had to stop trains to rescue her. Sutton could be jailed for breaking the order.

 

On Thursday, magistrates sentenced her for three public order offences after deciding at an earlier hearing that throwing herself into a river did constitute disorder.

 

The Asbo seeks to prevent her doing anything which could cause alarm or distress to the public.

I cant see banning her will make much difference, if she really wants to end it, I'm sure she'll find a way.

its really sad she feels so bad but the fact the courts have put an asbo on her is hilarious, also have they helped her get a councelor?

What an utterly pointless thing to do. If someone wants to commit suicide are they really going to be worried about going to jail if they fail? I very much doubt it.

Well i dont hate it so much anymore i made that back in summer 2003 because i was on medication that made me burn very very easily and if i didnt wear factor 60 suncream then i'd be in trouble.

This just seems dumb to me - if she really wanted to kill herself she'd have found a way - theres plenty of cliffs around. Seems more about attention seeking than actually wanting to die.
